I wonder if there will be any backlash in the LGBT community over Young's release.

tbr, there shouldn't be. A gay man can get released just like a straight man could. He didn't work as hard as the company wanted him to, so they gave up on him. Has nothing to do with sexuality in my eyes. It's more fucked up to me to have a person without the needed skill still signed simply because of the fact that he's gay. They kept him around doing nothing long enough as it is

Sadly, they could have done that to protect themselves. He may not have done anything but some people in social groups who take everything offensive may have flipped out over it had he been released sooner. He was a wrestler, his sexuality should not make a difference. He was decent but they have far better talent. I am shocked he lasted longer than some others.

She didn't seem to care before. She has modeling to fall back on. I don't think it was her walking out but maybe she hinted at it and they beat her to it? She wasn't that great but she was a nice midcard option they had in the women's division and it was still a stupid move if they did let her go.

To be honest, the fact that he's gay is probably the reason he lasted as long as he did. So, if anything, it's not discrimination because he's gay, it was actually an advantage.

An advantage, of course, because he's not a good wrestler and he was employed for years despite that.

Funny thing that is... Nothing against him or anyone for that matter but because of some people who have fits and make everything about race and sexuality, people like him are given special perks/treatment by corporations out of fear of backlash. Vince already had issues with racist accusations going around over the years so I can see why the company did this. Better to pay someone to sit on their butt than to risk losing fans and facing criticism which would cost a lot more in the long run.
