Jaxxon Maximillian Ripper
A legend in the independent circuits; all over the world. Nicknamed ‘Super Beast’ due to his monstrous size; tipping the scales at just over 400 lbs.! Yet he was mysteriously agile and quick. (Much like Vader from the WCW and WWE) He tended to become the main attraction wherever he went, taking championship after championship. He became the king of the independents, feared by almost every wrestler of his day. His sons also joined him in his reign of terror. Jack and Max were great wrestlers in their own right, but they always lived in the immense shadow of their father!
No one in the many crowds that came to become fans of the ‘Super Beast’ knew what kind of real monster Jaxxon actually was. He was verbally and mentally (and ,possibly, physically) abusive to not only his loyal sons, but his loving wife. They lived with this secret for many years without the fans ever catching wind of it. Then, everything changed the year MRS. Ripper died. The tension grew within the wrestling trio as the year went on.
Strangely, the very year of their greatest tragedy, the Rippers were about to step into a bigger spotlight. All three of them were brought into a developmental program within the WWE and had begun to rise in the ranks. It seemed inevitable that all three would ascend into the WWE and become part of the next generation of wrestling stars. But, the Rippers were rotten from the inside out. The brothers began to grow jealous of one another. Max was mom’s favorite and Jack was dad’s pride and joy! And, with momma gone, Max became the focus of his father’s rage and his brother’s ridicule. And, yet, they continued to work together toward their ultimate goal of reaching the pentacle of wrestling fame!
But, despite all of their differences, Max continued to actually aid their entire rise to greatness. Until that faithful day! The Rippers (Jaxxon and Max) were up for the tag team championships with brother, Jack managing! WWE officials were in the audience to evaluate the three to see if they were ready for Raw, Smackdown! Or ECW.
The match was going well and Max was in the ring taking care of business. He had cut off the ring and was pummeling a weak opponent that had just about had it. He decided to let his father, the ‘Super Beast’, finish the match and get the real glory. He turned to tag and saw the look on his father’s face. It froze him in his tracks!
His father just looked at him, shook his head and said, “You’re holding us back.”
Then, suddenly, Jaxxon and Jack Ripper turned and walked away from the ring. In the midst of the sea of disappointed fans, there was the disappointed look of Max’s father which is even today etched into his mind. Max just stood there and watched them walk away. But, Max and his father never looked away from each other. They stared each other down the whole time as Jaxxon and Jack abandoned young Max in the ring!
Max was so stunned, he hadn’t noticed that his weak, broken down opponent had made a tag and his oversized partner had come in and speared young Max in the back! What happened next was all a blur to Max. The blow he took from his family and, then, his opponent, stunned him beyond recovery. He woke up on the mat, his opponents still celebrating in the ring having retained their championship! Max pulled himself up onto the second rope and glared at his father and brother who were, even then, turning their back on him.
Young Max was down, but refused to stay down. He was now on his own and realized that his family had completely abandoned him. He could have kept silent, but he refused. He knew the family secrets. And it was those secrets that he decided to publish in a book. It was widely sold and debated. The fact of his father’s steroid abuse became public and the WWE, as well as, all other wrestling organizations turned their collective backs on Jaxxon Ripper because of the bad publicity that followed him wherever he went! Even his brother, Jack, once more stuck in his father’s shadow, couldn’t find a job anywhere in the wrestling world!
Max has had no contact with his father or brother since the day they left him alone in the ring.
