In an interview with the Asheville Citizen-Times, Edge (a/k/a Adam Copeland) indicated that he is nearing the end of his wrestling career.

He said he plans to settle down with his girlfriend in Asheville, North Carolina once he retires, where WWE is holding a RAW brand house show tonight.

"I'm coming up on my 20th year, and I've definitely had some injuries that have shortened my career," Edge said.

"That's part of the reason I bought up here — we want to retire and listen to the wind in the trees, and we want to do it fairly soon. I may have two more years. With each injury, it's harder and harder to come back."

It should be noted that talent is always saying things like this and they always wind up staying around for much longer so take that quote for what it's worth.

I hope he doesn't leave in 2 years time, if he stayed around for a bit longer he could truly be the face of wrestling like Shawn Michaels was. I will be devastaed if he doesn't stick around a little longer.

What's the LOLOLOLOL about, Shawn Michaels being the face of the company or Edge following suit, by face I don't mean babyface.

would be sorry to see him go but injuries can take there toll and its better to retire early and have your health as you get older than cripple yourself.

I'd actually be glad if he fucked off because he's gotten boring to me. Same old veins popping out of his head when he's talking and that fucking SPEAR SPEAR SPEAR gayness.

He's heel now, if WWE had continued with this age of contreversy shit he would have been awesome. So no more Spear! Spear! Spear! shit from him for a while, even if he did turn face again I think WWE have learnt from their mistakes here.

His heel run has been stale too. Not that it's bad but he just needs to make slight tweaks to make it interesting.

Edge is one of my favorites, he's absolute gold on the mic when he's given the chance and he's a solid in ring worker as well, it'll be sad to see him go :(

Edge is great at what he does, but nowhere near the caliber in ring performer that HBK is/was and is certainly nowhere near being the face of the company in any capacity. I understood you didn't mean babyface.

Edge's success came mostly from his character and how well he played it, not from his phenomenal in ring work, though I'm not denying when need be the can go with the best of them. When Edge does depart he'll leave a huge hole. Both him and Jericho have been the most consistent and over all best heels in the business over the past few years.

Edge is one of those guys you built your business around because of his consistency. He can feud with anyone and put a decent match with anyone, and when in a roll, he will make a broom look good. In 2007, he was untouchable, picking right when Taker left, making Batista good in the ring. In 2008, he put clinics with Undertaker and in 2008-2009 he basically wrestled every type of match and gave us good match after good match

Now, by any means he will be the absolute face of your company (which BTW, Shawn Michaels wasn't the face of the company, not since 1996), but he will always be one of your go to guys and main eventers. He will be extremely missed. It's a shame that now his character has been set on stand by. He's nothing. He's just Edge. Not the Ultimate Opportunists picking up World Championships left and right taking advantage of every scenario, not the Rated R Superstar creating controversy. He's just Edge.

Just because he's in one of his first non title feud in years doesn't mean he's just Edge...lol.

The thought of Edge retiring in two years is the biggest piece of bullshit I have ever heard. Edge is one of those guys who will stick around way longer then even he himself thinks. In wrestling nobody retires before 40, unless you're name is Dwayne Johnson.

Meh, Edge has been boring for sometime now. His face run just put the icing on the cake for me. During his last heel run, I would say that he only gets heat because of Vicki. The fact that they paired them up again (even if it was for one night) just proved me right.

Fuck this shit. He's been stale for a little while but in time I trust he will do something awesome again. Fuck him leaving in two years.
