Really did not care if punk won or lost just thought the match was overbooked and did not need VInce and the shield involved.
Rumble match was fun but i was expecting more surprise entrants, cena winning was inevitable.
Jericho returning was the best part of the night for me just gave me goosebumps.

Yeah Rock's promo(s) sucked, he looked nervous. Disagree with almost all of it but it's pointless going into that, I do agree with the ending of the Rumble being Blue, Ziggler being eliminated so randomly by someone who just can't get over is ridiculous, considering how long he stayed in there. Why Shield have suddenly given up on Ryback is beyond me, if they do continue with the Ryback/shield storyline then why didn't Shield cost him to keep his momentum going? Instead of Cena just burying everyone. The Rock/Punk match is hated on too much imo, people expect 5 star ring skills from a guy who wrestles like once a year and never trains, good job. The psychology is what matters and it was good.

Did anyone expect Cena not to win? Anyone using that to effect their ratings is silly. I was so damn sure I made a site bet saying ANYONE ELSE other than Cena winning and you win... Come on, it was obvious. The only other solution to the Rumble was having Punk beat Rock (which is what I wanted) and then having Ryback win the Rumble. Overall though, I enjoyed the PPV throughout. No boring moments, excellent commentary, great matches, ADR was the highlight for me as well, actually no Jericho returning was. Was just a fantastic PPV imo.

More power to you brother.

And I find that anyone trying to justify this PPV is quick to shell out "DID YOU REALLY THINK CENA WOULDN'T WIN?!?!"-- no. I knew he would. That makes it even worse in my book that it's the worst of both worlds. A bad booking decision and a painfully predictable one.

Did you expect anything more though...? Surely vast disappointment only comes if you expected it to be better. Rock was panting when he was delivering his crappy promo for God sake, lol. After Rock/Cena, I knew this match would suck, I just knew it would suck less. I'm incredibly bored of Rock asslicking the public as well, he's lost that badass nature, no wonder half the crowd were rooting for Punk.

Not trying to hate but again with the 'what else did you expect'

...I mean come on. You gave the PPV a 9.10 and every time a HUGE negative comes up you just say "lol we expected it!"

just because you know something bad is coming doesn't make it acceptable

I was surprised by Rock in all honesty, he look a lot slimmer when he came back around raw 1000 so I thought he was getting in ring shape again, shame really but I understand the movies are a bigger responsibility for him. I expected Ryback / Shield interaction (haven't watched Raw in a while so wasn't sure if that was still a thing or not) during the Rumble, such as Ryback hits ShellShock get's Cena on the apron then the lights go out and Ryback is on the floor when they come back on. Also it makes them seem like Punk's cronies now just bouncing to his opponents which i'm not a fan of.

I'm not going to hate on a PPV or let it ruin my rating because someone who wrestles one match a year and is a global movie star has a poor match. I was still more glued to this match than I would be for some irrelevant Cesaro vs Daniel Bryan match, there is more to matches than match quality for me. I enjoyed the match despite its poor delivery. The fact I was watching The Rock vs CM Punk - arguably my favourite face vs my favourite heel - was enough for me to thoroughly enjoy it.

I said in hindsight I'd change my rating to 7.5 or 8.0. Even though I knew Cena was winning it doesn't make me any more mad. You have said it was a bad booking decision, but for who? Yes for the internet smarks it is, but for the vast majority Cena/Rock part 2 for the title is just what people want to see, it's a "dream match" and it draws incredible numbers, so I would say it's definitely a logical booking decision to say the least.

Ironically the things that annoyed me most is that there was no Ryback vs The Shield continuation, if that story has dropped then at least tell us why or explain it. If the story isn't dropped then there was no need to have Cena eliminate Ryback clean, it makes Ryback look like piss. Another annoyance was the way Punk vs Rock ended, there was no need for Vince to come out. He comes out to assert his authority as the controlling leader of WWE, but instead one simple Rock promo decides everything, it makes it all look childish and mediocre. Lastly, how Punk lost was just annoying, one elbow ends a reign of like 430+ days - it doesn't help suspend disbelief.

I cringed at some of the failed spots (mainly the table), but I cringed more during his first promo, damn that was horrible. I didn't think there was a need for a promo at all to be honest.

I'm so glad Punk is not the Champion anymore, he gets the "go away" heat from me, but on the other hand, you have a movie star part-timer dethroning him and his 500 days reign, which speaks volumes about WWE's booking and inability to create big stars.

And lolCena

But, Punk is not the Champion anymore. That's all that matters.

True, true enough. And yea, WWE is clueless about making new stars. They think Ryback is going to stay relevant? I mean, come the fuck on. And then they have Cena easily dispose of Ryback in the final 2 of the Rumble... makes him look really great.

But yea, if Rock took the title off of Punk and dropped it to someone that wasn't Cena it wouldn't be so bad... but from Punk to Rock to Cena does literally nothing for anyone or the company. It might make the belt look better for the time being, but it will just look bad again when they try the next heel ADR WWE title run or someone like Sheamus in 2010 getting a run it will be back in the shitter because they have no new stars to hand it to who can make it look decent.

Not to keen on Cena vs Rock 2. But the way I see it is that this can be a good starting point for the WWE to rebuild. Let Cena and Rock argue over the WWE title. Let other younger talent grow around them, fighting for the other titles.
