PWInsider said:
After a few readers have sent word that Goldust/Dustin Rhodes' file has been moved to the Alumni section of WWE.com, we have confirmed that the company has released him from his producer position in the past week. From what we were told, something happened at the Smackdown taping two weeks ago that led to the release.

It'll be interesting to hear what happened at the SD tapings 2 weeks ago

Was anything particularly bad about that smackdown?

He's a veteran that speaks his mind. His Twitter account proves that. He's very knowledgeable about to the business, I'm sure after whatever happened cools down he'll be back.

Why havent they been using him? He SERIOUSLY needs a world title reign. Even if he wins it on a PPV and then the next Monday drops it to someone, as long as he gets the title.

With his past I wouldn't be shocked if it was a drug thing

Shame to see him go because he was very talented and would have been perfect in the producer role. I thought that he had finally turned his life around and got everything back on track but he must have lapsed for a little bit. Wouldn't surprise me if he is brought back in the future since WWE keep giving him chances.

That's the problem they keep giving him chances he know he gets fired he can hop over to TNA for a bit or work the indy circuit then after some time ring the WWE and get rehired.

This is a shock, I really wanted that Rhodes/Goldust feud and even if he wasn't wrestling he would have made a great asset to train FCW guys and such.

Well you never know WWE might have decided that he has now used up all his chances. He had a decent run this time of around four years which would have been one of his longest runs in WWE.

Until we know the full reasons why don't any of is should be saying that he used up his chances or that he deserve to be let go.

I too think he would have made a good trainer. He does have a bit of a ego and temper mind.
