Despite being advertised for a show that's taking place after the end of his deal, Drew McIntyre hasn't put pen to paper on a new WWE contract yet.
Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that McIntyre hasn't signed a new WWE contract yet, but they're working with the idea that he isn't going anywhere. It's probable that McIntyre will sign a new deal with the company.
Meltzer said:
When asked about his contract last September, McIntyre said he doesn't plan to be anywhere other than WWE.
McIntyre is among the wrestlers advertised for a WWE house show that's being held in Bologna, Italy on Wednesday, May 1. The show is taking place three days before Lyon, France hosts WWE's Backlash premium live event.
At Elimination Chamber later this month, McIntyre will be one of the competitors in the men's Elimination Chamber match. The winner earns a World Heavyweight Championship shot against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.
A feud between McIntyre and CM Punk has also been set up for when Punk is able to return from his torn triceps. When Punk was addressing the injury on Raw, McIntyre interrupted him and attacked him. Punk was originally scheduled to be Rollins' WrestleMania challenger, but Punk will be out of action for several months following triceps surgery.

Drew McIntyre was announced for a show in May in Italy. And obviously, his contract is up in April. So I guess the first question was: Has he signed a deal? And the answer to that is no, he has not signed a new deal. But he seems very happy so far with his new [heel] character, and he's really excited about it. They're working with the idea that he's not going anywhere, but nothing is signed. But I think the talk of him taking a lot of time off and everything like that -- probably not. And he'll probably sign a new deal, but it's still just a probable until it happens.
