Match#1 Hulk Hogan w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Steve King & George Rosello

Starting off the way we ended 80 with another decent Hulkster squash. He kills them both with HOGAN HAMMERS
*

Match#2 Pedro Morales vs Black Demon

Terrible and stupid stuff from Pedro.Man spends the entire match working an arm and wins via a Boston Crab. Fuck him
1/2*

At ringside, he cuts a promo about how proud he is to be the worst IC champ until Honky wins it. Fuck him.

Match#3 The Moondogs w/Lou Albano vs Angelo Gomez & DeNucci
Vince formally names them Rex and King, which means the push is on thank God. The old man is a real piece of shit as he refuses to bump for the new top heel team, and just looks like a complete cunt. Gomez gets in and is quickly killed by the Combo
3/4*

Match#4 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs Ron Shaw & Scicluna

Another old head does his best to make the future look like shit. Fuck off. Thankfully they don't let him get far, and instead focus on Shaw. The champs look very good together, but i need them in real matches to really find out. Garea wins with an Indian Deathlock
*3/4

Match#5 Killer Khan w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Manny Siaca

Jesus, 81 is off to a rough start. Khan sucks shit, let's move on

Match#1 Rick McGraw vs Mikel Scicluna

This is 10 minutes in a complete fuck you to common sense. Dull and boring as hell, and a real view on how bad wrestling can be and leaves us to ask "why are we alive" The time limit expires because life is a test.
Catching the clap

Match#2 Stan Hansen w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Jim Duggan.

Oh fuck. Big Boy fight for a few minutes and while it's not what it could be in a couple of years once Duggan gets good, it's still fun to see it happening. Hacksaw gets some cool shots in, but Stan shuts that shit down and beats the fuck out of him. MASSIVE Lariat to the throat ends it.
**1/2

Patterson interviews them at ringside, and Stan yells at for not saying his last name correctly, which is funny as hell because Pat can't talk as we'll see over the years. Blassie says he has all the contenders for every title and he cries himself to the bank every day. He talks about all his jewels and how he's managing the greatest wrestler in Hansen. Stan gets the mic and says there is a conspiracy to keep him away from the title after he broke Bruno's neck, and Backlund and Pedro can't hide behind it and he's coming from them. He puts Hogan over as the future and says they could be a great tag team if they want!!!!! HE WILL BE CHAMPION IT IS WRITTEN IN THE STARS AND NO ONE CAN STOP HIM. He rants about immigrants taking opportunities away from rednecks, and he knows everyone is scared of the last outlaw.

Match#3 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs Black Demon & Johnny Rodz
Way better showcase this week after that nonsense they tried to pull last week. Rodz vs the champs is wonderful as hell, and BD is a decent little jobber doing his part. Garea beats BD with a rollup.
**

Match#4 S.D Jones vs Ron Shaw
Jones gets another showcase despite showing nothing the last time. WWF is weird, man. He does some stuff and it's all basic as hell and makes it even more baffling. He wins with a bad swinging neckbreaker
1/2*

At ringside, SD cuts a terrible promo about being back. The highlight is him talking about Christmas, which is when this was taped,so he looks like a complete asshole.

Match#5 Killer Khan w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Steve King
Horrible shit from this big goof. Bad knee drop ends it.

Bob Backlund (c) w/Arnold Skaaland vs Sgt.Slaughter w/Grand Wizard (WWF Championship-10/1/81)
Sarge is thrown of by the "Gomer Pyle" chants and eats a world of shit when he rushes in on Backlund. Great opening stuff from Bob as always as he makes him a fool, and Sarge plays a wonderful fool. Sarge takes some awesome bumps and has his arm worked on and his selling rules a ton. Sarge finally cuts him off with a punch to the throat and a nasty headbutt that stumbles Backlund. Slaughter's control is awesome as he throws some nasty punches and and really goes to town on the neck to soften it up for the Clutch. The commentators do an awesome job of getting this over, and you can feel a real sense of dread in their voices as he gets closer and closer to putting it on. Sarge kicks the shit out of him some BUT BOB THROWS AN UNGODLY HEADBUTT TO FINALLY KNOCK HIM DOWN, AND THEN HE FOLLOWS UP WITH HIS AMAZING SPIKE PILEDRIVER AND SARGE IS ALL FUCKED UP. Sarge's sell is incredible as his leg twitches and he looks near death, and even more so when he falls on his face after trying to get back up after a DDT. They fight on the mat and Sarge punches him in the throat again and goes for the kill and Backlund fights like hell to stay alive as Sarge keeps on top of him. Sarge kicks him off a pin and Backlund falls out of the ring and hits his head on the ground and he's busted open. Backlund's concussion selling is amazing again, and maybe the best sell he's got. Slaughter goes nuts on it and beats the fuck out of him with some incredible punches and slams on the concrete to fuck him up even more. BOB DRAGS HIMSELF BACK UP BY THE ROPES AND SLAUGHTER FREAKS OUT AND SMASHES THE FUCKING RING BELL OVER HIS HEAD AND BOB IS A GODDAMN MESS.
2022-07-16.png (2.68MiB)

Bob drags himself back up and Slaughter punches the shit out of him AND HE BITES THE CUT AND SPITS ON THE BLOOD OUT. Bob gets back and throws punches back at him and an awesome headbutt to the stomach AND HE THROWS SARGE INTO THE TURNBUCKLES AND HE HITS SO HARD HE FALLS OVER THE ROPES AND ONTO THE GROUND. Bob comes alive and bashes his head in revenge and beats the shit out of him, and the ref finally calls for the bell
****

SARGE HITS BOB WITH THE BELL, AND HE KILLS THE REF WITH A SHOT WHEN HE TRIES TO STOP HIM. HOLY SHIT.

Incredible must see match, and the best one in WWF since Backlund/Valentine. Anyone who says Backlund was boring or bad is a cop.

Match#1 The Moondogs w/Lou Albano vs Jim Duggan & DeNucci

Good stuff as always from the Dogs. DeNucci spends the entire time chasing after Albano, so he avoids having to actually take a fucking bump or get someone over. A real cunt. Duggan gets some token offence and he looks pretty good before the boys kills him. Combo ends it
*3/4

Match#2 Stan Hansen w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Angelo Gomez

Another perfect squash from the big man. He mauls the poor kid and hits him with some hideous body shots, and does a little arm work for the hell of it. Lariat ends the fun.
**

At ringside, Patterson interviews them. He asks if it's Hogan or Stan who will win the world title, and Blassie flips out and refuses to say which one will beat Backlund. Stan goes on another amazing rant about being banned from 5 years and making up for lost time with his lariat. He threatens to hogtie and brand all the fans for booing him, and he reminds everyone he is the baddest man in the world. He lists all the champions again, and calls Bruno a "closet queen" who has been hiding from him, and he's coming for him.

Match#3 Sgt. Slaughter w/Grand Wizard vs Steve King
Fuck yeah. One more maggot pays the price for breathing anywhere near Sarge. Clutch does the job
**

Match#4 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs Jose Estrada & Scicluna
this is nearly 8 minutes, making matters even fucking worse for the already pretty boring team. Lots of dull work and nothing exciting happening for long periods of time, and Martel can only do so much to save it. Garea FINALLY pins the old man with a fancy rollup to end the pain
1/2*

Match#5 Killer Khan w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs John Callihan

FUCK OFF. I refuse to write anymore about this old prick.
1/2*

Post match, the dogs keep beating on them for a while, AND BACKLUND RUNS DOWN FOR THE SAVE AND CLEANS HOUSE. FUCK YEAH, BOB

Coming from that, Vince interviews him. Backlund says there is no need to hurt people like that in a real stoic voice, and it furthers my belief he's a deranged killer on his days off. Skaaland says he's been trying to get Bob to not defend his title as frequently because he's worried he might lose it, but Backlund refuses to slow down!!!!!! They talk about Bob bleeding in all his big matches and how he's working on trying to toughen up his head. Bob says he won't turn anyone down and if they're better than him, we'll find out. That's my champion. Bob>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bruno.

Match#2 Pedro Morales vs Ron Shaw
Horrible stuff from the big lug. Boston Crab ends it
1/2*

At ringside, he cuts the same dogshit promo he's been cutting since he got back.

Match#3 S.D Jones vs Johnny Rodz
This horrible push also continues, but at least Rodz gets to drag this mope into something fun. He's always doing something cool or mean, and it's all worth watching. S.D brings nothing to the table as we know, but Rodz is Godz. He rips off the tag rope and chokes S.D with it in a really cool moment that more people should steal. But, SD kicks off and Rodz smacks his head off the turnbuckles and gets pinned
**

Match#4 Stan Hansen w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Jim Duggan
FUCK YEAH, REMATCH. Stan wastes him right with gross shots to the head and neck, and poor old Hacksaw never stands a chance. Stan beats the fuck out his skull with elbows and punches and it again, MEAN. Big ass Lariat to the face does it
**3/4

Match#5 Hulk Hogan w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Steve King & Angelo Gomez

Standard fun Hulkster squash. We should enjoy these while we still can. HOGAN HAMMERS kill them both

To open the show, Vince says tonight will be the first Cobra Clutch Challenge!!!

Match#1 Sgt. Slaughter w/Grand Wizard vs John Callihan
Sarge is forced to fight a maggot puke before his challenge because the WWF is evil and shitty. Wonderful beating from him as always, and Callihan is a big boy so it's all the most impressive. Clutch does the deed
**

Post match, Sarge gets in Vince's face when he calls him Gomer, and Vince shits his pants like the coward he is. Sarge reiterates the rules of the challenge and Hacksaw Duggan walks on and accepts it. Vince brings up the fact he's never put the move on a fresh man, and Sarge says it doesn't matter and it's on. They get in the ring and the commentators put Hacksaw over big time as a tough guy! Sarge fakes putting him in a couple of times to throws Hacksaw off, and he finally get it on and Duggan fights like hell to get out and the crowd fucking loses it, but he can't do it and the ref finally ends it. Sarge grabs the mic and calls all the babyfaces and heels to try their luck . Awesome angle.

Match#2 Rick McGraw vs Johnny Rodz
Rodz beats the crap out of another chosen bum, and it's baffling he's not one the being pushed. Rodz kicks him down the steps and rips McGraw's back open in a gnarly moment. Rodz keeps beating him ass and looking like the meanest dude this side of Stan and Sarge, and McGraw brings next to nothing to it. He slips out of a slam and drops Rodz on the mat and his shoulder are down and the kid steals it. boooooooo
**3/4

At ringside, Patterson is with the tag champs. "WE WORK VERY HARD AND FACE ALL THE VERY WORTHY CHALLENGERS" Albano shows up in the crowd and rushes the ring and Martel says he hates him! That's not very nice, Rick. Patterson says he wants the Moondogs to get a shot, and Garea says they'll accept the fight and stop Albano from saying he's managed 10 sets of tag champs.

Match#3 Hulk Hogan w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Charlie Brown & Manny Siaca
Hulk does his thing, and it's ok. Hogan Hammer does it
*

Match#4 Rick Martel, Tony Garea & S.D. Jones vs Jose Estrada, The Hangman & Scicluna
Poor Hangy's push is over it seems. This is a near 11 minute showcase for the babyfaces in an insane choice given Martel is the only dude with an ounce of fire, but this is what pre-peak 80's WWF is. S.D is especially horrible at trying to fire up and he looks hilariously out of place. He wins with a terrible looking headbutt.
Paying a shitton in tax and getting nothing back

Match#5 Killer Khan w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Steve King

Lmao fuck off

At ringside, Patterson says a lot of fans want him to answer Sarge's challenge, but he's going to sit back and wait and see. GOD YES.

Match#1 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs Scicluna & Ron Shaw
Good showcase for the boys, but i wish it was the late 80's and a Martel showcase, you know??? Martel wins with a crossbody block like this is 1981 or something.
*3/4

This week, our hero Johnny Rodz is accepting Slaughter's challenge!! Really awesome that heels and faces alike are going for it, which is the best possible way to sell how badly they want 5 grand. Rodz demands the ref make sure the hold is placed on correctly as he doesn't trust Slaughter. AMAZING. Rodz keeps stalling in awesome ways and pisses Slaughter off as a result. Slaughter gets it on and drags Rodz off the chair and fights like hell to choke him out, even turning purple at a point. Rodz fights like a motherfucker to get out, but he can't and he ends up passing out. Slaughter gets on the top rope and points out Pat, but nothing happens. LOVE this build.

Match#2 Sgt Slaughter w/Grand Wizard vs Jim Duggan
Another awesome squash for Sarge. He beats the fuck out of his future tag partner, and it's good shit as always. He hits a nasty kneedrop off the top and then locks in the Cobra Clutch to end it.
**

Match#3 Stan Hansen vs Angelo Gomez

Great stuff from Stan as well, and it's nice to see the big boys get to murder jobbers for a change. He drops a knee on the kids face and pins him with it still grinding his head into the mat.
**

Match#4 The Moondogs w/Capt. Lou Albano vs DeNucci & King.
The dogs beat the shit out of the worst old dudes on the roster!!! This show rules. He of course doesn't take the pin because he's still a prick, but it's nice to see him get pounded on nonetheless. Big splash beats the kid
*3/4

At ringside, Vince interviews the winners. Lou puts over the losers as top tier challengers, but they were handled with ease. Lou says his dogs are fat and smelly, but they can move and they can beat anyone. The dogs growl and Vince asks if they can speak English, they grab the mic and growl and bark, and even hit Vince with their bones. Lou says they've got homicidal tendencies and they'll be the next champs. He hits them with a belt to end the interview.

Match#5 King Kong Mosca w/Capt. Lou Albano vs Carson
Old school clubbing heel is what we get with Kong, and i don't mind it as it's always fun to see someone just clobber a poor jobber. Patterson says he's banned from countries because of how brutal he is, which is such an awesome way of selling someone. Mosca wins with the Canadian Backbreaker.

Tonight, The Hangman and Killer Khan form a duo that probably fucking sucks. Hogan is in action.

At ringside, Vince says there was a match between Slaughter and McGraw that never happened and we will see the footage now. Slaughter comes out to the ring and the crowd shouts "GOMER" at him, and he keeps getting angrier and angrier and storms off, so Vince stops him at ringside and asks what the matter is. Sarge loses his shit about the chants, and Wizard says they don't have take this abuse (much longer). Sarge goes over to the announce desk and screams at Vince and Patterson before storming off to the back. Vince and Pat say this is a excuse not to fight as he has real competition, which is bullshit as Sarge as already squashed this loser, but whatever. The ring announcer says another opponent will take his place, and our boy Larry Sharpe comes out to take his place.

Match#1 Larry Sharpe vs Rick McGraw
They have a cool battle on the mat and Patterson says both dudes have amateur backgrounds, so it's a cool little thing. They spill out to the floor and fight to a double count out
3/4*

Weird match to follow up a cool angle that's leading to Sarge/Patterson. Really doesn't make all that much sense.

Match#2 The Moondogs w/Capt Lou Albano vs Black Demon & Johnny Rodz
Another super fun showcase for the dogs. Rodz gets a ton of offence in and looks amazing as always, and it's a cool thing to see him get treated well. Demon tags in and the Dogs end him quick with a fat man splash.
*3/4

At ringside, Patterson is standing by with Hogan. Patterson says there is a lot of AMOMOSOSTIY with Blassie managing all these men who want a world title shot. Hogan says he's trying to cause trouble and to shut up. He says Vince wised up and put him on TV because he raises the ratings and if he had 50 minutes a week, this would be the highest rated shows in the world. Even back in 81, Hogan was on this bullshit. What a guy. He talks about his training and how unlike Pat, he's in great shape and is a true savage. Hogan says only a copy of himself could give him any trouble as he's a perfect wrestler and he's never lost, and he never will.

Match#3 Pedro Morales vs Mike Smith
Boring shit for Pedro. Dude really feels like he's from a bygone era even in 1981. Brings nothing new or cool to the table. He wins with his shitty Boston Crab
1/2*

Match#4 Killer Khan & The Hangman vs DeNucci & McGraw
simpsons-radioactive.gif

Match#5 King Kong Masca vs Steve King

Another fun clubbing squash for the big man. Backbreaker ends it
*3/4

Match#6 Hulk Hogan vs Jim Duggan

FUCK YEAH. Insane to think this ever happened given where they both ended up, but really cool to see it. Hogan mostly beats his ass with clubbing and eye rakes, and Duggan can take a great beating for a dude as big as him. Hogan breaks out some nasty backbreakers, and you forget this dude was always a big monster bully in his heart. Hogan hammer ends it
*3/4

To close the show, Vince says next week Slaughter will bring back the Cobra Clutch challenge.

At ringside, Patterson says the tag champs are working harder than anyone else and they need to be careful they don't get caught on a bad night and lose it all.

We go to the ring for the Cobra Clutch Challenge. This week, Jeff Parsons is is taking the task. Sarge walks out to the ring AND HE HAS COTTON BALLS SHOVED IN HIS EARS SO HE CAN'T HEAR THE GOMER CHANTS. AMAZING. Vince says Patterson has been studying the challenges and maybe has it figured out, and Pat says he has been watching some tape and even had someone put him in the hold, bur he hasn't given it much thought... Sarge wreaks the kid in awesome fashion as always and wins in maybe 20 seconds. Post challenge, Sarge beats the fuck out of the kid and boots him out of the ring.

Match#1 Sgt. Slaughter w/Grand Wizard vs Ron Shaw
The fans chant for Patterson, and Sarge gets pissed and beats the fuck out of Shaw in amazing fashion. Clutch does the deed
**

Post match, Sarge goes after the ring announcer and GW has to drag him off. He heads to ringside where he's met by Pat for an interview. Patterson brings up last week, and Sarge confirms the chants pissed him off and he doesn't need to hear it from these maggots. He is not a wash out loser and he doesn't want to hear it again. He says he hears it wherever he goes and he's sick of it. He says him and and Wizard will put up ten grand for Pat to take the challenge RIGHT NOW!!!!. Patterson asks for confirmation and Sarge demands to know if he's yellow, and Pat says he'll do it when he's ready. He says he's not yellow, but he's not ready yet. Sarge rightly points out he did a challenge and a match just then, and he has no excuses not to do it. Patterson again refuses and Sarge and GW walk off on the coward. Awesome shit.

Match#2 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs Rodz & Estrada
Normal showcase for the champs, and i'm ready for this reign to be over and some new blood to be injected into this terrible fucking division. Backslide ends it. Fuck off, man
1/2*

At ringside, Patterson is with Stan Hansen. He again asks about any animosity between all of Blassie's men, and Stan says he'll wrestle anyone for the right money, but he doesn't want to fight any of them right now. He wants a champion and he fears no man. He was a teacher for a minute, but they kicked him out for being too mean. He broke Bruno's neck and it took him 4 years to get back, and he's not waisting any more time. HE HATES EVERYONE NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE. HE'S A REAL HATER. IN FACT HE HATES HIMSELF, BUT NOT AS MUCH AS HE HATES EVERYONE ELSE.

Match#3 Stan Hansen vs Steve King
Amazing shit from Stan as always. It's a shame dude was a born Gajin, because man him as the top heel in WWF would have been fucking perfect. Lariat ends the fun
**

Match#4 King Kong Masca vs Gomez

Same deal as the last few, so good enough. Backbreaker does it

Tonight; Don Muraco debuts.

We kick off with another Cobra Clutch challenge, this week being answered by McGraw. The Gomer chants hit again and Sarge gets very angry and takes it out on the kid. He strangles the hell out of him and yanks him off the chair and tells the ref he quit, BUT MCGRAW FIGHTS LIKE HELL AND SMASHES SARGE INTO THE BUCKLES AND THE CROWD FUCKING LOSES IT. SARGE HOLDS ON FOR DEAR LIFE AND ENDS UP CHOKING THE KID OUT IN SUPER GROSS FASHION. Amazing shit.

Post challenge, Sarge storms the commentary desk and calls Patterson a yellow chicken and walks off in disgust. This story is the best.

Match#1 Pedro Morales vs Black Demon
Fuck off. Bad and dull as always, so fuck this
1/2*

At ringside, Vince is with GW and the debuting Don Muraco. Wizard says he is one of the most talented athletes in the world, and is an even better wrestler than surfer. Don gets the mic and says he has studied around the world and he's not used to scum and muck, and it's time for the cream to rise to the top. He calls himself an artist of the world and the water. He singles out Backlund and says he has put aside his concerns for the ocean so he can focus on being the best in the world. He shits on the fans and says he will make them suffer as only he can.

Match#2 Don Muraco w/Grand Wizard vs Angelo Gomez
Don really beats the crap out of the kid in amazing fashion. He uses the ropes to attack the neck and goes from there with some mean stuff, and you can already see how great of a bully he's going to be in the future. He keeps using the ropes to attack the kid, and it's such a different thing from the normal output of most guys at this point in the era. He wins with a sleeper.
**

Match#3 Stan Hansen w/Classy Freddie Blassie vs Steve King
Another wonderful one for our hero. Lariat ends a killer beating.

Match#1 SD Jones vs The Hangman

This goes to a fucking 10 minute draw for some hideously cruel reason, and i don't want to ever think of this again.
Watching every Hellraiser movie

Match#2 Don Muraco w/The Grand Wizard vs. Pete Mitchell

Another super mean one for Don. Lots of neck work with the ropes to really set himself apart and make himself one of the best dudes in the entire company. He hits a gross slingshot and the jobbers head twists in horrible fashion. He wins with his sleeper again
**

Match#3 The Great Yatsu vs. Frank Savage
Pretty cool to see Yatsu make it over here as a young boy. He works the leg for a while and it's kinda dry, but it's fine enough to watch for a while. Savage is a big boy and gets some offence as well, and he's not very good, but i do enjoy seeing an actual match. GY wins with a fancy leverage pin
*

At ringside, Blassie and Khan are standing by. Freddie says he's flying back home to Mongolia. THANK GOD. Blassie says he's being awarded 100 camels for some reason which he never goes into. He makes a bunch of jokes to kill time, and it's funny, but not worth recapping.

it's time for the Cobra Clutch challenge, and this is the famous angle that leads to Patterson/Sarge, so i linked it as well, but let's do it. Blue Demon is meant to do it, but he runs away and the fans chant for Pat to finally answer it. Pat walks over and demands to know what happened and Sarge says he told him it would be the last time he ever wrestled if he tried, so he ran away like Patterson did. Sarge goes to walk off, AND PATTERSON SPINS HIM AROUND AND RUNS IN THE RING AND DARES HIM TO DO IT. Sarge hesitates for a moment but GW gets in his ear and tells him to do it!!! Patterson rips his shirt off and sits on the chair and the crowd is fucking electric for it. Sarge stalls for a while and they get hotter and hotter, and Vince brings up the 10 thousand offer from a few weeks ago in a great moment. Sarge locks it on and PAT RUNS TOWARDS THE BUCKLES AND BOUNCES OFF LIKE BRET AND PIPER AND NEARLY GETS OUT, BUT SARGE HANGS ON. PAT KEEPS FLIPPING HIM OVER BUT SARGE HOLDS ON LIKE HIS LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, AND HE SINKS IT IN DEEPER AND DEEPER. PAT RUNS INTO THE BUCKLE AND SARGE IS KNOCKED LOOPY, BUT HE STILL WON'T LET GO. PAT FINALLY LIFTS THE ARMS OFF HIS NECK AND HE'S NEARLY FREE, BUT SARGE KNEES HIM IN THE GUT LIKE A YELLOW COWARD. The fans go nuts because they think Pat won it, AND SARGE HITS PATTERSON WITH THE WOODEN CHAIR AND BUSTS HIM WIDE OPEN. SARGE THROWS THE REF TO THE GROUND AND LOCKS THE CLUTCH BACK IN AND THE ENTIRE LOCKER ROOM EMPTIES AND TRIES TO DRAG HIM OFF, BUT SARGE LOCKS HIS LEGS INTO THE ROPES, SO DENUCCI GRABS THE CHAIR AND BREAKS IT OVER HIS HEAD TO GET HIM TO LET GO. IT ONLY WORKS FOR A SECOND AS SARGE GETS IT BACK ON. THE FACES POUND THE SHIT OUT OF HIM AND WIZARD DRAGS SARGE FREE AND THEY RUN FOR IT. Pat is a bloody mess and all the faces help him up, and Vince wonders if he won the cash. AMAZING ANGLE.

Match#4 Dominic DeNucci & Rick McGraw vs. The Moondogs w/Lou Albano
Standard fun squash from the Dogs. After that amazing angle, i actually almost feel bad for the old man getting his ass kicked. Well, almost. Dogs win with the splash
*3/4

Match#5 Angelo Mosca (w/Captain Lou Albano) vs. Jose Estrada

Same deal as always. Backbreaker ends it.

Must see episode with an all time angle and some fun squashes

To open the show Patterson's head is bandaged and he says he got out of the hold, and he doesn't care about the money and he's not finished with Slaughter. He's not retired or finished, he's not letting anyone stop him.

Match#1 The Moondogs w/Lou Albano vs Dominic DeNucci & Steve King
Fuck me, stop running this fucking match. Just want that peak 80's tag division, not this sad shit. Dogs wins with a move.
*

Match#2 Don Muraco w/The Grand Wizard vs. The Black Demon

Don wreaks one of the worst jobbers on the roster in a true feel good moment. He wins with his sleeper.
*3/4

At ringside, the tag champs cut another really bad promo. they at least call out the Moondogs as their toughest challenge to date, and they look forward to seeing them in the ring.

Match#3 Pedro Morales vs. Johnny Rodz
Only 90 seconds, but a great on regardless as Rodz has an awesome flurry and forces the old man to give a shit for once. Pedro gets a sunset flip to win
*1/2

Post match, Rodz attacks him and we get a great pull apart.

Match#4 Rick Martel, Rick McGraw & Tony Garea vs. Baron Mikel Scicluna, Ron Shaw & The Hangman
Near 8 minute showcase for the babyfaces, but hey, there are worse ways we could spend that time. Martel does it with a crab
**

At ringside, Pat says he got 13 stitches in his head and he's taking his pills for now, but he won't forget and he will get even when it's time. Vince asks him what the Clutch felt like, and Pat says he felt light-headed and that's why he tried to get out as quickly as possible by stunning Sarge and slipping his head out. He feels like he got out of it, but the ref is saying that Sarge let it go to attack him. Either way, it's not over. He again says it's about pride and he wants his revenge.
