EDIT: Lol at Chessarmy, so just becase a couple of jokes about ONE act of the product you would take Don West over one of the best color commentators ever.

One act? Just a couple of jokes? Do you watch TNA!? Don West was an awesome heel announcer and he was fucking hilarious as well. He did a phenomenal job of backing up all the heels, he was something different, and I think he could have got even better if they had left him in the booth. Taz sucks dick, he's generic, he says "holy smokes" all the time and as a heel commentator he'll be nowhere near as funny as Don was.

If any of you doubt the greatness of Taz, just go back and check Raw's Draft Show 2008. That's 3 hours of awesomeness, and Tazz ranting about ECW getting raped has been the funiest thing in the booth I've ever heard since heel Lawler.


Tazz is leagues away from West. He had been a little under his normal level towards the end of his run in WWE because he wasn't totally playing heel, but he was still better than West, so now that he will actually be playing full heel...

Don West is just plain awful compared to Tazz. What chemistry between he and Tenay are people talking about? All the miscues and mispronunciations and severe lack of wrestling knowledge that Tenay had to make up for? If anything it's a true credit to Tenay's abilities, the man has had to make passable commentary not only with this hack, but with other noted orators like Juvi and Stevie Ray.

I saw this coming as soon as Tazz was signed and it just made sense. TNA is always looking to replace someone with the next best thing that happens to be most relevant to the wrestling audience. Tazz is fresh from a successful WWE stint and when he was on he was the best color commentator in the E since King's character has shifted. Don West is a fat Danny Bonaduce doppleganger with a raspy voice who used to shill shit for Home Shoppin Net. To me his commentary sounded like he forgot was calling wrestling and not pitching products to consumers, which is a sense is a commentators job, you just have to do it right, to me West can not.
