I've been thinking for a while, what if Ziggler was a fan favourite? He has the looks for it, and I can see the fans getting behind him very quickly. I know he is a brilliant heel, but I wonder if he would make a better babyface.

Thoughts?

I don't think he would make a good Cena type babyface, but maybe a very successful Punk/Jericho babyface. Who is still technically a face, but is not clean, nice either. More like classic Jericho. I think Dolph could fit that tweener role very well. The crowd at this last Raw was totally backing Ziggler. After he pinned Swagger they erupted. The even chanted "Lets Go Ziggler" through the match.

Ziggler is the perfect example of a slowburn push done right. They didn't sky rocket him to the top, but they slowly let you see his greatness and they worked him to the top. I think WWE handled Zigglers career very well.

Maybe one day but he needs to get to main event status as a heel first before even thinking about that really. If you turn him face anytime soon it would more than likely fail as he's had to put in a lot of work just to get kinda over as a heel.

All they have to do is give him more mic time and you have instant connection between him and the fans.

It's not a giant leap for Ziggler to turn, all he has to do is just say a few key words and dump Vickie and you have someone to replace Orton for the next 2 months.

Would be a wise idea to change his last name before pushing him as a serious-type character. I just really can't shake the memory if Dirk Diggler from "Boogie Nights" when I hear it. He's a good wrestler, but it's hard for me to take him seriously considering he was named after a coke monster porn star who had issues getting erections.

He has been established far too much now to think name change.

Also, if someone like Hunter Hearst Helmsley can be taken serious as a top guy, then anyone can get over a shitty name.

Yeah, we overlook it now, but how stupid of a name is Hunter Hearst Helmsley or even "Triple H."

Sooo much "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn in his style, so it's hard not to like him. I see him with the pops he's been getting to eventually turn face much like Orton did at the end of the Legacy run when he started getting the huge pops that led to his face turn.

Ziggler is over with the fans because he's such a good heel and because he's awesome in the ring. See Shawn Michaels post the Rockers. Turning him face now might be a mistake but I'm all for him dropping Vickie and cutting more promos. He definitely has the potential to break into the main event and stay there. I say keep him heel until WM, have him win Money in the Bank and then take the title from a heel champion.

I'm sure Dolph would do alright as a face and he'd have the fan support, I just don't want him to turn. I really don't. Dolph works so well as a heel because he's a maximum douche and its more fun to see him get beat up than perhaps anyone else. Plus, he's got this old school touch to his image and mannerisms that makes someone we hear so little so unique to watch. If he turns face, I fear that may be lost.

His matches would be fun (as they are now), but I can't help but feel Ziggler would be generic as a face. John Morrison and Mr. Kennedy are the closest examples for comparison I can think of right now.

I like Ziggler as a heel as well.

Does anyone else think he has a striking resemblance to a young Kurt Russell?

According to all reports he received huge face chants tonight at No Way Out and was cheered louder than Sheamus. Looks like the fans could get behind him if they were given a reason to. Make Vickie and Swagger do something bad to get him out of the group and then turn him face in the process. I don't think that it could hurt turning him face and seeing how it goes, WWE could definitely use some more faces and with a workhouse like Ziggler there is a good chance that fans will cheer him.

WWE should take the PPV as a sign and capitalise on the support he received but I doubt it.

The crowd seemed pretty damn smarky throughout the whole night, so I wouldn't take their responses to him as a sign to turn him face.

True PPV audiences are normally a bit smarky but still it is a start and they could build from there if they really wanted. They just need to give fans a reason to get behind him and as long as he is with Vickie he will be booed. If Vickie screws him over hard enough even the casual fans should support him over Vickie.
