How can you ignore what he says?

He is the face of this company and if I along with many fans ignored what he says, then the children and women who adore him will listen to him, and that's definitely a no way to build the other guy (CM Punk)....

CM Punk is the WWE Champion for 300 days, and you must build his reign as it's a big deal, calling it "irrelevant" while you are the face of the company is just stupid....

yea I as a punk fan knows that what he is saying is complete bullshit but what about the kids and women who worships him, how are they supposed to take punk's reign seriously if "their" face of the company is telling them not to?

The "your reign is irrelevant" line was just what that promo needed since it brought attention to what that feud was about. Cena putting a upstart champion in his place because Punk's character was acting like a smarmy heel at the time. It took the feud to the next level which was needed for the pay off since it brought those children and women's attention to Punk. Once Punk retained his belt against Cena the reign truly became important since it meant that their savior and go to guy could not best the dastardly villain. It was a way to bring attention to a title which had in a way become irrelevant since Punk became champion. Most of the main event stories when Punk was champion was still focused on Cena with Punk working the upper midcard still. Cena throwing out that line was his way to direct the fans attention to where it should be.

That's my way of interpreting that line.

Not a Cena fan but there is no denying he is number one in the company. You have to look at the big picture and everything he does for the WWE. No one comes close imo to doing what he does. There are guys who can be the future of the company in DB, DZ, Punk without as much backstage politics if the rumours are true and Miz also. But right now its still Cena and I respect all he does for the WWE.

I don't think anyone in the IWC is affected apart from the marks bro. In fact I like it when he mentions us.

I do to. It means that he/them at least acknowledges us and our existence/gripes. It would be worse if they never mentioned us considering how large a percent of their fanbase actually use the internet and sites like this.

Cena's the #1 guy, #1 draw, the #1 merch seller, awesome work ethic, always doing promotions, has the looks and mic skills to be #1, is good in the ring when they let him wrestle. Is he my favorite? No. Is he still the #1 guy? Yes.

Lol no not you. Like some people legitimately get mad when Cena mentions the "five moves of doom" or any other IWC references towards him, because they think he is mocking us for being sick of him. Everyone would like a Cean heel turn eventually but it's just incredibly unrealistic. I've learned to move on from that fantasy and appreciate a better heel in CM Punk and Ambrose.

I do believe Cena may troll the fans from time to time. Could be him not being happy with his role as well...

:hmm:
