Do you try to get trophies/achievements? Are you a trophy/achievement whore? For PS3 owners do you care that certain past PS3 games still don't have trophies and therefore decide to ignore those games?

Yes I care about trophies. It's fun trying to get them but I'm not obsessed with getting all of the trophies. I don't even have a single Platinum yet. If a game has a nice set of trophies that's fun and challenging to obtain than I will be more interested in those games versus games that just have random trophies. Fallout 3 has an awesome line up trophies/achievements for example. Eventually I will platinum that.

Old PS3 games that don't have trophies do hurt them a lot in justifying a purchase but I own and have owned previously a good amount of games with no trophy support. Valkyria Chronicles, MGS4, and Resistance Fall of Man are all amazing games even without the trophy support. Now games like Heavenly Sword should have it because it sounds just good and trophy support would be needed to further justify purchasing it.

Valkyria Chronicles does has the in game achievements & that does make up for a lack of trophy support. I have 2 Platinum trophies, both for WWE games, Legends of Wrestlemania & Smackdown vs Raw 2010. The platinum trophies are really easy to get in those games, especially the Legends of Wrestlemania game. I don't think trophies are that important. I have over 400 trophies, but I also rented a lot of games in the past prior to Blockbuster's recent changing of their game rental rules & bringing back $1 a day late fees. Before I got a router I was near the end of GTA 4, since the trophy support was added I would have to completely restart my game in order to get them. I'm not going to do that for trophies after hunting a ton of pigeons. Since Sony made trophies mandatory just to do a "me too" thing with Xbox' Achievement score & they are here to stay whether or not people care to get them.

More so with Acheivements then Trophies, but thats only because I have had the 360 for so long by comparison. I'm sure if it was the other way around I'd be more for Trophies then Acheivements. But as much as I love getting them I wouldn't say I'm completley obsessed. Lots of times I just play the game and if you can beat the game and still not have most of them I don't usually bother trying to get anymore. If I'm close I look at whats left and if its simple stuff that may take a couple minutes I'll go for it, otherwise again I usually will just forget about it.

Yeah, I wanna have at least 1/2 or 3/4's of my game's achievements.
Try and get everything out of the game and what not, but mostly I just focus on the online stuff....
But for the most part, I'm not like into completing all the 1000/1000 type stuff.

Nope. And I hate when I'm playing online and people talk shit since my Gamerscore is like 3500 and there's is like 20,000+. It's a complete turn off to online play and I wonder if these dudes realize how much they're knocking themselves.

It's not a must that I get a game or play just for trophies and achievements, but it's pretty cool. I don't go around bragging or nothing about it. It is a good way of checking to see if someone is lying about something though. Me and this guy at work have bets on who can beat the game the quickest and he says he's so far, but when you look at his trophies for that game, he's not as far as he says.

Can't be bothered. I'll check them out and see what I have to do, but I put no real effort into obtaining a super duper gamerscore. It really is pointless.

Yes AND no. It depends on the game. Like if its a Guitar Hero, Rock Band, or sports game, I tend to make sure I try to get the full 1000 achievements, unless some of the achievements are fucking ridiculously impossible or will take like a year to complete. Otherwise, I let the achievements just happen when they happen.

Yes. I hate the people who brag about it because that's just gay but I love the sound of getting a PS3 trophy (that little magical sound). Achievements, I don't give a fuck because I barely play my 360. PS3 owns my life.

Now, I got laid off last year so I had a lot of game time and managed to rack it up but I have seen people with over 3000 trophies.....I am hoping these are people in the video game business because if they are just regular people like us with jobs and school....holy fuck, go get some friends.
