It was going up I suppose, isn't Hogans debut their highest still though? I don't think they've topped that giant slamming 1.5.

I'd rather have Dixie find someone with direction. I agree with the Brooke Hogan and Socal Val firing, but for the life of me I cant understand why she keeps people like Sting, Angle, Bully Ray, Ken Anderson, and Jessie Godderz. My opinion is that TNA needs to first, hire some credible writers with storylines planned months in advance, and have a youth movement. Rhoode, Storm, AJ Styles, Magnus, Joe, Hardy and A Double would be my main stars. Then rape and pillage all the indie promotions for X-Division wrestlers and gems like Chris Hero, who will probably be gone from WWE by years end. Then just push their own talent. TNA has already proven they can push their own talent, and while I dont see anyone as a true Cena-esque flagship wrestler, TNA has a ton of talent to build an amazingly solid card.

Yeah, that was indeed their highest.

True, that is a very good 0.8 rating right there.

Last month, Destination X special did 1,494,000 viewers on Thursday 7/18, up from the 1,190,000 that they did the week prior.

This month, Hardcore Justice special did 1,319,000 viewers on Thursday 8/15, up from 1,179,000 the week prior.

The 8/22 wasn't "Hardcore Justice" special, it was just the fallout from the actual free-PPV the week before.

Numbers don't lie, and they tell us that these free specials are very good for TNA ratings.

Income wise, how good a decision could that be? Whilst I'm completely for TNA having four PPV's a year, what impact does that have financially? You should expect "free PPV's" - makes no sense - to get bigger numbers than your normal show, but unless they're exceptional, surely they'd be losing money? Well, not making enough money to counter being on the road anyway. I'm not a financial expert and have no idea what sort of income TNA got and get now, but I'm incredibly curious what impact removing monthly PPV's before going on the road had financially.

Bigger ratings = more money from Spike, and it also keeps Spike happy for the time being. TNA is (for now) hitting the right button with these free specials. We'll see if they can maintain these good numbers for them.

Before hitting the road, regular PPVs were big income for TNA, confirmed by many sources. Mostly because they had a monthly lease on the Impact Zone and they could tape 30 shows in 30 days for the same price as they spend now on only one double TV taping. So, while the buys weren't great (but weren't also low as the internet can tell you), it was a big income.

So overall, I think this is slowly becoming the good decision by both Spike and TNA.

I'm a WWE fan, but I don't understand you want a wrestling company to fail. I'm amused at the fact that people call themselves wrestling fans however don't want wrestling as an industry to succeed. You may ask, how? It's simple. WWE needs a good rival, someone who are a threat to them for them to produce even more entertainment and for wrestling to get a bigger audience than it already does.

I'm sure a business will go through a financial crisis, not all, but some. It's no secret that they're struggling with money, so it gives a chance for WWE fans to shit on them, but they'll bounce back. I strongly recommend giving them time, although I'm against some of their recent decisions, it's strictly business and it's all financial.

TNA will do what benefit's them, so if something benefits them as a company and helps them in the long run, then it's acceptable.

I hope TNA bounce back from their issues because I want to see wrestling companies succeed.

When you say "hope TNA bounce back from their issues" you insinuate that their recent decisions have caused some sort of drop off. Really the only noticeable drop off is with their approval rating from the IWC, which ultimately means jack shit.
