Fox News said:
LOS ANGELES – An attorney says a disabled man was awarded $8,000 by Disneyland after the "It's A Small World" ride broke down, stranding him for a half hour while the theme song played continuously.

Lawyer David Geffen says Jose Martinez didn't medically stabilize for three hours after the ride broke down in 2009.

Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown said the Anaheim theme park believes it provided appropriate assistance during the incident, and is disappointed that the court did not fully agree.

Geffen says Martinez uses a wheelchair, suffers from panic attacks and high blood pressure, which was aggravated by a need to urinate.

Geffen says half the award ordered Friday is for pain and suffering, and the rest is for disability law violations. Brown says the violations have been addressed.
I was stranded on that ride for more than 15 minutes once and I totally should have sued them for attempting to drive me insane. It's bad enough that the ride is so colourful you feel like you're on acid, but that fucking song is just about the most vile thing ever created.

I feel sorry for him having to listen to that infuriating music for so long.

Could they not have just turned the music off?

I would have liked to have sued them for even riding it for the normally amount of time.

Could they not have just turned the music off?
Good question.

I believe the songs are always on, it's too pricey for Disney to keep turning the music on and off every day.

Huh? Dude, that literally makes no sense! That's like saying it's more cost effective to leave your lights on all the time. If you've ever done that and had to pay your hydro bill at the end of the month, you'd know it's not cheaper. More than likely someone just fucked up here.

You mean the part that says this...

Even when rides are shut off, the sounds are rumored to keep on going. Apparently, some believe it's too pricey for Disney to keep turning off the music and then restarting it each day. Bet that makes for some super creepiness as workers clean up at 2 a.m.!
Don't believe everything you read on the internet, there is no way that's true and besides, most of the park/ride music is shut off before the park is even closed, along with the majority of the lights. I know this because I've been in Disney World after the park is closed, and trust me, there's no music playing.

Now, with that being said, if that were true it would be fucking creepy as hell.
