Dijak’s WWE Contract Reportedly Expires This Summer

According to Fightful Select, Dijak’s deal is up in June of 2024. There is no indication if he plans on remaining in NXT, is hoping to get moved back to the main roster, or decides to take his talents to AEW, TNA, NJPW, or another company.​

An update on Dijak and his status with WWE.

It was reported by Fightful Select last night that Dijak would be moving from NXT to Monday Night Raw following the 2024 draft, which would mark his second stint on the main roster following his infamous participation in the RETRIBUTION group. However, Fightful’s Corey Brennan reports today that as of this morning Dijak had yet to sign a new contract with WWE despite his roster move.

That being said, it does appear that Dijak will be re-signing with WWE according to Brennan. The two sides are still talking and a deal is expected to be reached. It is noted that Dijak did have outside interest, but sources from AEW reveal that they expect Dijak to remain with WWE. Dijak’s social media antics have also drawn him praise from management backstage.

As for his move to Raw, there are no current plans for Dijak but plans for his next run on the red-brand are being pitched. As previously mentioned, Dijak was not expecting to be going back to the main roster and has been a prominent player on NXT for the last couple of years.​

Same thing Cameron Grimes said too basically, was told his job was definitely safe and to be patient or something by some unnamed higher up

But for this situation it sounds like just a disconnect between NXT and main roster stuff but I was hoping there'd be less of that now. HBK could have definitely used him with Trick, we all thought he was gonna be a challenger

Dijak has a solid look and decent skillset, but when he's not having spotfests, it feels like he has trouble connecting to the audience. Usually feel like the whole "so and so would be great in x promotion" bit is kind of a tired bit, but I never claimed to be a great poster, so I'll say that MLW is the perfect landing spot for him to get used on a regular basis and hopefully evolve his character a little bit.

Even with WWE's massive improvement over the past few years (though given how ROUGH things were in 2019 and most of 2020, not hard to do) the utilization of talent is still an area to improve, that and this. The idea of "You're killing it, you're going to do big things" then doing a 180 shortly after as well as the transition from NXT to Main Roster still not being as seamless as you'd like. Dijak will do well elsewhere.

The disconnect thing shouldn't even be valid in this case since HHH had him in the Black & Gold era so he knew what he was about. It's a very strange situation though because i'm gonna assume HHH actually wanted him on the main otherwise why not just let his deal run out in NXT? As far as them not negotiating with him, more details on that will be key because we know how badly the contracts have been handled for a while now.
