Slept on this and kind of disappointed sounds like a ton of fun. Nate vs Diego? I'm in and jerking.
Nate would pick him apart just like Gil but it would be great to see because Diego is such a crazy bastard he is just glutton for the punishment and then comes back like a cyborg (like r3 vs Gil)

I would love to see it

I would love to take up judo. In a street fight that shit is unstoppable

I've always found boxing to be far more useful in a street fight. Around here street fights are just punches and headlocks. You see so many missed punches, but the boxers dominate everything. So much art into a proper punch.

If all you see is punches and headlocks that would just make judo even more impactful. What is a boxer going to do when you go over grab him by the shirt collar and dumptruck him on his fucking head?

edit: I've boxed plenty before anyhow, so coupling my decent hand speed/footwork with judo would be enough to take care of myself in most scenarios

Not at all. The punches are normally chaotic where 95% of them are missing or not landing where you want them to. I do boxing and it's remarkable how much you learn about when to punch and what range to be at and such; it ain't all just about technique. I think anyone can get out of a headlock pretty easily without knowing any Judo skills. I guess Judo can help against a much heavier opponent but otherwise I'd much rather my boxing knowledge. One punch is enough for you to win the fight and get out of the danger you're in.

Also by your logic the boxer is fighting a Judo specialist. I can flip that on you (pun intended) and say what's a Judo guy going to do when a quick-firing boxer is firing punch after punch his way with accuracy, power, and control? Each technique has its advantages, but in a street fight environment I'd much rather my boxing ability.

I'm not going to get into a hypothetical street fight convo because there are literally hundreds of variables we could bring up

bottom line is judo is awesome and incredibly practical in a fight and should be utilized in MMA more

edit: Also I'm not really approaching this as "boxing vs judo" like you are. I have a decent amount of boxing training under my belt, I would be adding the judo in addition to that, as I said.

Sambo is pretty awesome too isn't it? Expecting a Fedor pic from dz now.

I guess lol, only sambo fighter I know is Fedor. It is mainly a russian thing that incorporates striking, judo and jui jitsu.
