I'm going to say this because it's been bothering me for a while.
He's not the best in the world.
The best in the world doesn't botch moves in nearly every match. I've seen it happen week after week, he tries to hard to be perfect and it backfires almost every single time. If he was smart, he'd leave the television matches to the mediocre and really leave it all on the big stage. That would solidify him as someone to see in the climax... instead of making him look like he's trying to do everything at once in the span of 8-9 minutes before the commercial break. That's just on the wrestling side.
How can you get behind this guy as a legitimate face, when all he does is pout his face and insult whoever is standing in front of him. Every single time he's got a mic in his hand, he has go constantly remind people of the storm he caused last year, but that's been gone for months. It's not working anymore, and frankly... the ratings show it. It's not just me, sitting behind here on the keyboard. The viewers are going down, and it's been going down since he's got the title ironically enough. The Punk/Bryan match this week gained viewers, but it was bad for the timeslot.
His biggest claim to fame in the months that he's been champion is ripping on a washed up nobody General Managaer... and that was the GOOD part. His feud with Del Rio sucked, his feud with Ziggler hasn't done JACK SHIT for Ziggler. At the Rumble, they barely even talked about Ziggler being the opponent in the match preview. It really fucking annoys the shit out of me.
I like CM Punk, I think he's terrific. But he needs to be a heel, and you all need to stop hugging his nuts like his balls sweat gold, because they don't. If he stopped trying to have a five star cram-fest every week, he'd do a lot better job of making his real high stage matches matter.

That part I bolded has zero to do with the conversation here. The only true rating getters seem to be Cena, Kane, HHH, and Undertaker. Rock gets them when he shows up.
Punk will go through the motions untill WM, and will promptly be slid down the pecking order, or sent to SD. I blame this mostly on WWE creative and Booking, but it doesn't change the fact that the top brass at WWE will still veiw Punk as unviable to carry Raw. Orton should come back to Raw in late April as his replacment. The WWE went out of their way to accomodate Punk by moving Orton and I don't think they feel it has payed off. The WWE doesn't even trust him to close Raw most of the time, as a knee jerk reaction to people leaving Raw in the second hour. The WWE certainly won't blame this on wtrestlers who are not main eventing. They will put this squarely on the shoulder of the WWE Champ. Unfair, but true.

I enjoy Punk, he rekindled the mark in me last year. But even I can honestly say, he hasn't been quite the draw one would've thought he would be.
Well, it was in responce to a post that said the Punk and Bryan match drew subpar ratings for that time slot. So I went on to list the only stars who seem to grab the ratings attention that apparently WWE doesn't feel Punk is getting. It has everything to do with the rational behind the rest of my post.
That's you opinion, not a fact... Don't go getting all Chad25 on us now.I'm jut sick of people blasting him because he's the real deal.
I really, really hate this theory. Have you ever thought some people 'hate' CM Punk purely because they don't find him entertaining? Hell I remember reading around forums at the time when he pulled off his original shoot and people still weren't entertained by him and that's fair play.I think people are on the 'Hate Punk' bandwagon for the simple fact he's not coming out and shooting every week, but that's the thing.. If he did that, you'd hear 'All he does is talk shit during his promos' etc. It's really true what they say though, you can't please everyone.
