Those of you with experience in this game, is Banez generally considered to be good as mafia or bad at it?

The game or the alignment? He’s kinda middle of the road really, can be solid as town.

With all due respect I think he's probably below average as either alignment.

I also think his town and scum game are vastly different from each other so I for one find him to be an easy catch most of the time.

I know I wasn't exactly on the forefront of this lynch but that was mainly due to timing.

Why are you asking Kajuh?

Go ahead and tell us what you were thinking of, can't hurt to have your thoughts on record.

Btw Kajuhs question just now and Joe earlier asking what happens at night is stuff that would point towards them not being aligned with Banez (Kajuh) and not in a scum QT (Joe), but I'm wary of them having an experienced player in a potential QT telling them to say this sorta stuff so I'm not about to give out full blown town reads for those posts.

It's probably gonna make me seem like scum lol but here it goes.

If the consensus among the veterans is that Banez isn't that great as scum, it could be a possibility that the scum decided to throw Banez under the bus with Poyser leading the way to get Banez lynched. That would get everyone to read Poyser as Town really early in the game and he'd pretty much have free reign on leading mislynches. One big thing that's stopping me from fully going in on that theory is that Kira was a really strong role and I doubt the scum would just throw it away like that.

Would be a pretty terrible strategy tbh - I’d have to explain still being alive later in the game despite being “confirmed town” or worse, the serial killer would kill me because they can’t get me lynched. Not to mention just throwing away a number on D1 when it just doesn’t need to be done. Bussing isn’t generally a great strategy when it’s out of nowhere, the risks outweigh the rewards.

also no disrespect intended but if you’re gonna bus ruthlessly like that, you do it when it’s a strong playing field which this game isn’t really. I’d back myself to win a game as scum in this field fairly simply, maybe not me personally surviving but I could lead a team to victory just with the thread control I would enjoy and my power to push multiple mislynches before it actually catches up to me

Okay good to know, I like this post, looks like independent thought from a new player.

The conclusion you arrived at is correct as well, Poyser isn't the kind of player to throw a weak teammate under the bus literally from their first post, much less the Bus Driver GF, as that role is very useful to have. On the contrary, Poyser prides himself on being able to carry weaker players to a scum victory as their teammate. Or at least he used to but he's having a pretty shite year as far as scum performances go, still I don't think he'd stoop this low just to have a good scum game for once.

The other thing is that scum hard bussing each other d1 is still bad strategy. You may ask, why, isn't having one of your guys act as pseudo-confirmed town a huge advantage to have? The answer is yes, BUT it also makes them a prime target for the Serial Killer who is likely to take a shot on a basically unlynchable player eventually. The point is, Poyser knows all of this and so I don't see him hard bussing a teammate d1 at all.

Bussing done right is usually a case of sensing your teammate is in real danger before the danger actually arrives and getting ahead of it, so it appears that it’s out of nowhere or not needed rather than just actually blowing them up for no reason - which I am good at by the by :brodgers
