Just a couple of quick sidenotes:
-If everything goes down as planned, with Bryan winning this match then going on to win the belt in an amazing display of underdog-ness, the fans really lose their ability to bitch about predictability. This is the most predictable thing ever but it's so awesome that it doesn't matter.
-If it's contractually obligated to happen, how would people think about Batista pinning Orton to win the belt? I'm sure we'll all bitch about it at the time, but there's so much money in Bryan chasing Batista that it can happen. Then again, this might be the point that the fans get tired of waiting and give up on the chase. The stars are aligned.
-To answer Seabs' quote, Bryan shouldn't be a "lifelong chaser"... think I mentioned in another thread that it'll be alot like Austin Aries in 2012. We marked our asses off when he won the belt, and while his title reign was completely forgettable and he dropped the belt just a couple of months later, we still see Aries as a bonafide main-eventer despite not being treated like once since. Bryan will be the same way winning here, how good the title reign is almost doesn't matter.... hell, it's better if it's short for obvious reasons
-This match, from a technical standpoint, will most likely suck. It's giving me Sting/Magnus flashbacks since Triple H is done. Hey Stopspot, if you're reading this, do you know how hard it would be for them to smoke-and-mirrors this match into a good storytelling affair? Both guys can probably pull it off, with the brutal barbarian and the scrappy underdog complimenting each other perfectly.
-This whole thing really shows you just how important the belt really is. Most of us are so invested in Bryan winning the belt... Good job, WWE. Maybe it was entirely unintentional, but this turned out to be some pretty awesome storytelling.
-I do still feel like it could use another stipulation to ensure Bryan won't be stripped of the belt the next night, but Hunter giving the whole "Bryan, you proved you were an A player" speech would probably be a whole lot better anyway.
