Ok, I figured it was time for us to define the current era of wwe. We all know the past eras... the Golden Age of the 50's, then the second golden age of the 80's and early 90's, and then the graddaddy of em all, the beloved Attitude Era. That lasted from 1997-2003.
After that though, noone has really named any of the "eras"... I would say that 2003-2005 would be "The Rebuilding era" considering they lost the likes of Hogan, Scott Hall, The Rock, Lesnar, Austin, Goldberg, etc during that time... and in a few short years, they had to make Batista, Orton, Cena, and Mysterio, maybe even some others into household names. And they did a good job of that...
But since then, what would our current era be? When did it start? What defines it?
IMO, what defines it, and makes it its own new era is just the complete face of the wwe changing, from Austin, Rock, Hogan, Hart, Goldberg, HHH, HBK, Undertaker, Mankind into Cena, Batista, Orton, Punk, and a few future stars that are on the rise. All the guys that were built up during the rebuilding era...
As for when it started, Id say around 2004, when these current guys hit their stridde... But I dont know what it should be called... And I also dont know if 2004-now is all one era, or if it can be split into two with the recent new look of wwe since the start of 2008.
Thoughts on out current era?
