I have watched WWWF/WWF/WWE for coming on 60 years. But if WWE chooses to take the Saudi's blood money I will be cancelling my subscription to the network and doing everything I can to promote a boycott of its products. WWE is sooo anti-terrorist, but it's willing to cozy up to the biggest supporter of terrorists, the place where most of the 9/11 attackers came from, a place that murders its journalists, tortures its political opponents and kills civilians in Yemen. Oh, and WWE is soooo pro-women, so supportive of women's equality, but they're willing to leave women behind if McMahon can get some more millions of dollars from a country where women are second class citizens. On Smackdown Edge talked about a "moral compass" and "stains on (the) soul." I would have thought he was talking about Crown Jewel, if I didn't know so much about WWE and the McMahons.

is Crown Jewel Cancelled because of the journalists death in the embassy??
It had better be, and not just because of the murder of the reporter, but their sponsorship of terrorism, including against the U.S., their killing and torture of their political opponents, the second-class citizenship they give women (some "women's revolution!" and their slaughter of civilians in Yemen. I'm planning on cancelling my subscription and promoting a boycott if they go ahead with Saudi Arabia.

So...serious question for everyone...

Will anyone here actually stop watching/caring about the
WWE if they don't cancel/move the Crown Jewel event?

Make that 1 yes. In another thread, 2 others said they would if they thought others would.

So...do you think this will cause a divide
in the wrestling community as a whole?

Also...Welcome to forum Al...

A "divide in the wrestling community" is a bit dramatic. I know a lot of people are pissed, including a number of the wrestlers. I think there will be a backlash, among advertisers as well as some subscribers. But it will probably be forgotten soon by many of them. I don't think there should be a "divide." I'm often in a minority when it comes to political issues, but on this I don't see there's any debate. Even those who admire greed and hypocrisy understand that they could hold the event somewhere else and they're making a crapload of money anyway.

What I'd like to see is for pressure to be exerted now, promises of cancellation and boycotting, so maybe there doesn't have to be a "divide."

Um, right now there are grownup matters to discuss.

so we're going to act like kids, while the adults discuss how they can make $50 million ignoring a controversy everyone will forget in a few weeks anyway? just like any corporation?

I don't agree with going either - mostly if the talent doesn't want to go - but nothing's going to change.

So that's your answer, nothing matters? I guess I've been around long enough to know different. How about we get serious for a minute and not act like stereotypical wrestling fans? Saudi Arabia just tortured and killed a journalist. In the United States, freedom of the press is under fire, with many journalists being threatened for what they report. Most of the 9-11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia. But where did we invade? Iraq. When Trump made his list of Muslim countries that we wouldn't accept immigrants from, was Saudi Arabia on the list? No. Why? Because of MONEY. The kind of money that buys Shawn Michaels selling out on his promise to stay retired. The kind of money that buys Kurt Angle risking permanent damage to his frickin' neck. The kind of money that brings a half-hearted John Cena back, and has the Undertaker dragging his battered body to another match, and not only leaves the women home but apologizes for them ever having been seen in promotional material. All of this for the amusement of butchers and thieves. And meanwhile hundreds of civilians in Yemen are being killed and political opponents in Saudi Arabia are in hiding. So I don't accept nothing matters. Even if it's only a few voices they'll be heard, and if no voices are heard, what does that say?

Your rite Al You have been around for a Long Time :flair: Still Not Going To Make A Diff soz...

Hey, guess what? You'll grow up some day too. I wish I was your age again. But then I would have as little maturity and understanding as you do. So what to you is a "difference?" Would hundreds of people cancelling their subscriptions in support of democracy and human life be a "difference?" Would WWE at least not doing this ever again be a "difference?" No, you can't change the world with one post or one action. But that doesn't mean you don't start.
