Has anyone here been following this shit? Russia has fucking INVADED a Ukraine and is prepared to go to WAR to annex nearly 1/3 of their country. And right after the Olympics.

News has been unfolding relentlessly all weekend.

Pretty hypocritical from Putin, particularly right after he gave the US so much shit when Obama was threatening intervention in Syria's uprising. Now here comes Putin to forcefully preserve Russian interests and culture in the Ukraine region.

Haven't seen too much about the Russian invasion part, just headlines here and there, but I've been following the rebellion in the Ukraine decently and that shit looked fucking crazy. Agreed that this is very hypocritical after Putin blasted Obama, but like that guy actually gives a shit.

At least he had the class to do it after the Olympics, bet he was counting the hours.

Basically Russia has about 15,000 troops in the Crimea area of Ukraine right now. Up until yesterday Russia was denying the troops were theirs and they weren't wearing insignias. They took over an airport there, raised the Russian flag in front of a government building, and have just been BEGGING Ukraine to give them a reason to shoot. Total bait job. And today Russia's government voted unanimously to authorize military force to secure the area, coincidentally right after Obama threatened them.

Putin just doesn't give a shit about Obama at all. They're acting like he's the weakest president we've ever had.

So some recent updates is that Crimea voted to join Russia and Canada has ordered the Russian troops training there to leave within 24 hours.
