Orton used the punt at Mania. It was never really used to finish matches, that's always been the RKO... so really no difference there.
And like I said, look at a guy like Jericho. When he first became a face it was essentially the same character, only with the insults and ridiculousness aimed at heels instead of faces. And obviously certain things always need to be tweeked...IE the cowardice and stuff like that. Can't have faces running from fights. Other than that I think Miz's character could indeed work as a face. But I think we're a long way off from that. It would need to reach the same point as an Orton or Jericho, so over and respected by the fans that THEY choose to turn him.

That's the thing. I don't think that the character itself would work as a face, but that Miz would become something so cool that people will look over the inconsistencies and cheer him anyways. But like you said, that is still a long way from happening.

My point with the punt was more with the angles than with the matches. When they had Orton brawling with someone and Orton got the upperhand, he would always look to punt them in the head. Now, he just looks to RKO them. In the past, Randy would have at least tried to punt Vickie Guerrero, Meatloaf, etc.

Yeah I suppose. Though I think the punt will still be used in certain circumstances to gain some massive pops instead of heat this time around. Basically to put an exclamation on the end of rivalries like he did with Cody during the Legacy feud. It'll also add more of a shock factor to it. For a while there he was going around punting people like mad and it lost some of it's value. Perhaps now it'll go back to that "OH SHIT THE FUCKIN PUNT!"..lol

The punt kind of lost it's awesomeness when John Cena no-sold it. And the punt should really be like the last resort finisher for Orton. If the RKO doesn't get it done he has to use the punt.

If Miz turned face then all of his current fans would hate him a la Edge. His character being a tool is what got him over. His good ability took care of the rest.

If I recall correctly, when he came into the WWE, he was a face for a short while. Whenever he was a face, people would still boo him. So they have ran with him as a heel ever since and he has excelled in this position through time. Pretty soon he could be in a position to turn face. He is over as a heel, he has got the crowd into his IM AWESOME saying, and he is decent in the ring. It's all about who the person is, and what kind of face he would play.

Sounds kinda like The Rock don't you think?

I think the Miz's face turn if it does come will mirror how we originally saw Jericho turn face back in the day. Playing the cocky/funny asshole role to such perfection that the majority of the crowd starts to love it... all it will take is a well placed joke on the right heel.

I don't know, Jericho is different, it's easier for him to be a face or heel and still be liked. The Miz, though I like him, kinda falls more on the annoying side of things and I don't think a lot of people would like him, even if he were face.
