Yeah, I know obesity isn't close to being raped, but it was just an example of my thoughts on this sort of situation. I'm not sure whether AW was fired because of this or not, but if it was I think it was wrong and things shouldn't be like that.

"He's like Kobe Bryant in a hotel in Colorado: He's unstoppable"...how is that mocking Kobe Bryant? It's a joke about Kobe Bryant, but it's bringing up rape. Nobody was mocked, it was just a joke that wasn't tasteful. It happens all the time in work, it happened to Gilbert Gottfried with Aflac, it happened when Tiger Woods lost a bunch of endorsements after his whole escapade, and it'll happen again and again. Until people learn that when you reflect poorly on your employer, you get fired, they will continue to be fired. Corporations don't want controversy, and there's always people they can find who will better portray them.

And it's not really off topic, just a discussion on is CM Punk right, and I'm saying yeah, it was completely justified.

Well, I just think that the worst they should've done would be a suspension, they could've fined him or something, I just think that firing the guy for one joke was wrong. Although I understand your point of view, you have to behave like you're expected to in your work space.

I'll agree they should have suspended him, but I think there's a little more to the story than we all know. I'd suspect he wasn't completely humble after the whole thing, judging by his posts he seems to have a lot of hostility that probably showed itself after the comments. AW seems like the kind of guy who would have burned his bridge with WWE even if it was a suspension, so if he is going to start standup comedy like was rumored, he'd probably be happier doing that anyway.

Now in that line of work, you can say whatever the hell you want and only answer to you.

Indeed I heard that he made some comments on Linda after that, so I guess he could've handled it better, I bet he'll make a good stand up comedian if he goes down that route.

I actually didn't even think of this until now, but I'm sure the whole Penn State debacle was why they made a big deal out of it, America is still sensitive to the topic of people getting raped. I'd bet money that's why the leash was short with it.

Probably. Whenever a bad topic that's hot on mainstrem/overall US society is touched the people that mentioned it don't end up well.

Why do you still think this is why he was fired? He was warned for this and appeared the very week after. He was fired for his twitter remarks on Linda McMahon and continuous "edgy style" on the mic the next week, but mainly for Linda.

AW was fired because he's a jabroni. If WWE thought he was ever going to benefit them (particularly financially) then they would have kept him around probably with a suspension.

I don't think it matters about if it has happened to you, you won't find it funny, I have family who have died of Cancer but when South Park makes fun of Cancer I still laugh, although I would never laugh at their deaths directly, if the subject of Cancer is made fun of I can still laugh at it.

As big a Punk fan as I am, I think he's wrong on this one.

He still has every right to come out and say this. Especially since he's backing the company's play in the long run, which is usually a smart move, and especially if you happen to agree with them.
