If the details are accurate, then just the fact that the Mother is apparently prepared or even willing to ruin his reputation is deplorable enough as is. Blackmailing your son and looking to discredit and sabotage their success is a horrible thing for a parent to do. Not to mention having a parent that repeatedly threatens to commit suicide and placing that kind of responsibility on their son. Being a parent is all about building up your kids even if at a cost - not bringing them down based on some weird perception of what a family is.
I remember watching Punk's DVD. He (and his friend) mentions how he more or less never really got what he needed from his immediate family and was more or less "raised" by his friends parents/family. He also mentioned something along the lines of his brother supposedly borrowing a sum of money and pretty much screwing him over in the end, so it sounds like there's a more than what we know as far as disputes and problems go. Punk's seemingly made it quite clear that he appreciates and is very loyal to his loved ones though and is willing to go the distance for them.
The fact that he's even helped his mother to this point despite it all is still a commendable thing but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. At the end of the day it's not up to us to decide where that line is.
