I assume he's going to have some kind of hefty no-compete clause right?
no details atm but it's complicated because he was released with cause. depends how much salary he's retaining I guess?

I'd bet there is zero no-compete. They fired him with cause in order to get out of paying him. To have a no-compete will mean they have to pay him during that time.

I'm assuming once the paperwork is official Punk is free to go wherever he is welcome.

This is also what I think too but who knows really. I don't think they can do a no compete when they aren't paying him bc of the with cause part tho

I don't really think they do.

Sammy and Eddie got resolved instantly.
Britt and Rosa still worked together, multiple times, without incident
Andrade got suspended and came back
Jack Perry is serving his suspension
Jeff Hardy served his suspension and is on probation

People disliking each other or having substance abuse problems isn't really a backstage problem, that's pretty much any sports or entertainment workplace. The only difference is that Punk refuses to let shit go and refuses to resolve things by letting things chill out. Just my opinion on the matter though. AFAIK every other issue was always resolved, and I don't expect everyone to love each other
It isn’t just Punk refusing to let things go. If Jack Perry let it go there wouldn’t have been an All In incident. Tony needs to make it clear that talent shouldn’t feel comfortable taking a backstage fight and taunting the person you got into a fight with live on his PPV. People in WWE wouldn’t feel comfortable doing this stuff.

yeah I just don't see any it factor in Sammy but I do in Darby so we will never agree
Fair enough. I just don’t think you can put the belt on Darby and sell that he’s the best wrestler in your company.

I have read that even in with cause firings lots of people can still have a pay out in their contract. So I personally not going to assume anything one way or the other. For all we know they could pay him a minimum payout for the remainder of his deal. I do think we will know more in the coming days or weeks though

and to complicate things, can they still use his name for merchandising for his deal length? lots of stuff I have no idea about but is interesting to think about

If they hadn’t terminated it in its entirety, yes, but I don’t believe so. I think Punk and AEW have fully severed ties.

If Darby won it, it wouldn’t surprise me. You could get a couple months outta him.

I can’t see Cassidy as Champion

Moxley winning and pulling the Real World Championship out of a bag. Jokes on you.
