Ok, I've been reading through a bunch of threads in this section and it still appears to me that a lot of people are not entirely clear on what Russo's position in the company is. He is no longer the head writer, having been replaced by Bruce Prichard (Brother Love) sometime ago. This means that any and all creative decisions have to ultimately go through Prichard, even Russo's. Therefore its not feasible to continue worrying about TNA making bad booking decisions such as "on a pole matches" or tournaments unless you are also willing to put the blame on Prichard. Since he's taken over, there has been a decided lack of Russo-riffic angles and storylines, so perhaps Prichard is to Russo what McMahon used to be when Russo still worked at WWE.

Regardless, I'd just like to ask everyone to refrain from bringing up Russo's name in regards to FUTURE events in TNA that come across odd, as it will technically be Prichard's responsibility and not his. However, if you wish to harp on about things he MAY have done in the past, feel free to do so.

Thanks for your concern,

Fuji.

I found this out only a few weeks ago. iMPACT is awesome at the moment which, makes me think that Prichard isn't taking many of his ideas.

I'd also like to add this:

Think back to the last 3 months of 2009, just after BFG and just before Hogan/Bischoff came in. Remember how awesome TNA was, since with a change of leadership imminent, they could pretty much book how they wanted since it'd be reset when Hogan arrived?

Russo was booking then.

I remember those days. Turning Point 2009 is still in my top 3 TNA PPV's of all time. Such a great show.

And as you said, Russo was booking then.

This.

I'd also like to point out this was the only time in which Russo had full creative control over the product. Prior to 2009 both Dutch Mantel and Jeff Jarrett were heavily involved in the writing of TNA. Once Hogan and Bischoff came in 2010, they had their fingerprints all over the product.

Right now iMPACT! Wrestling is so good because Prichard knows how to take Russo's ideas and make them shine. It's a team effort.

For a guy who never really was fond of TNA, even I have to admit that they're doing a damn good job at the moment.

Robert Roode as champion, Joe/Magnus and Daniels/Kaz/Styles are all excellent at the moment. I'd mention A Double in there but, it's a given that he's excellent.
