Why would AJ get that stip match against the Aces? AJ isn't even involved in that war anymore. If anything it will be Aces vs the Mafia, losing team disbands.

I know he isn't involved in that war, but that's how things are right now. Maybe they want him to be involved in that war if he doesn't get the title match. I don't think that what I said can really happen because it's more predictable the bands facing each other

There isn't a slot for AJ to get back into the Aces vs Mafia/TNA war now. The moment Bully dropped the belt to Sabin that bird flew out of the nest.
AJ is flundering right now, this gimmick hasn't worked at all as he has zero momentum with the fans. Arguably the single biggest home grown star TNA has is coming out to lukewarm reactions.

That's why I thought TNA would change his gimmick sooner or later... I read about this weeks Hardy vs AJ predictions in other sites and they said they would prefer to see Hardy winning just because TNA would have a reason to change it

Yeah, that's it. The intriguing downward spiral/heel turn that was (kayfabe) 2 years in the making has really lead to squat. Shame after it was such a compelling angle.

Creatively, I can argue the worst thing this company has EVER DONE was put Sting in the main event of Slammiversary. Before Sting was named #1 contender, there were 3 hot angles on the show imo that kept my buzz going. The Aces were actually dangerous for a change, injuring everyone, proving that there's no heroes left. Hogan's boys were decimated and it looked like there were 2 places to turn: AJ Styles doing his best Crow Sting impression, turning his back on TNA with a naturally progressing character, and Matt Morgan who was finally being rebuilt as a legit monster... then they ruined ALL THREE STORIES AT ONCE by having Sting decend from the rafters and take out the Aces 8-on-1 with a baseball bat and becoming #1 contender.

The Aces haven't meant anything since then (and ironically neither has Sting's Mafia) as they were never rebuilt and the "heroes" immediately came back. Bully's title reign fell flat.
Yeah, AJ had that stip that he couldn't compete until BFG, but it would make sense for Hogan to throw that out. We'd bitch but it would be better than this.
Not to mention they haven't had a good storyline since then (unless the BFG Series counts). Good character performances, good individual segments, but not a good storyline.
