CHIKARA SHUTTING DOWN

PWInsider.com has been told in the wake of allegations against CHIKARA and owner Mike Quackenbush, an announcement is forthcoming that the promotion is shutting down.

We are told by multiple sources that Quackenbush will also announce he is resigning at the head trainer of the WrestleFactory wreslting academy in Philadelphia, PA.

CHIKARA was founded by Quackenbush in 2002.

There were numerous allegations made overnight, describing alleged systematic abuse towards female trainees and staffers. You can find those accounts at this link. We are told in the wake of the allegations, Quackenbush held numerous meetings with Zoom overnight and this afternoon with talents and staff.

CHIKARA regulars Hallowicked, Jacob Hammermeier and Kimber Lee earlier announced they were done with the company. Numerous other talents are distancing themselves from the company publicly as well.

I never watched much Chikara but what I did see I liked, this is a bummer.

I think it might have something to do with the wrestlers saying they're done with the company bc of the allegations, some very long term ones as well such as Frightmare

If they worked there wouldn't they have an idea if they were true or not?

It was hard looking through that Twitter, but it sounded like mostly calling Mike a shitty person. Not a sexual assault type deal.

Never cared for Chikara but it need produce a lot of great talent(and some obnoxiously annoyin' ones). Oh well, there are a lot of other great smaller companies with good trainers and coaches out there for the future.

I was just making the assumption that Mike closed down the company because wrestlers were refusing to work for him, and i don't believe it was all that profitable but I think they do have their own streaming service? So they actually could have been idk

I'm mainly wondering why said talent stopped working there.

They other knew already and didn't care or didn't see anything like that and which case the allegations shouldn't have mattered.

They been circling the drain for a minute anyways. Several of their long time talents/trainers/managements already resigned over allegations. I just assume Quack is cutting his losses here.

Is that the only thing allowed to be accused of though? If they're arguing that he unfairly held down women or was otherwise sexist despite not sexually assaulting them, is that just dismissable as nothing?

And I was mainly talking about how you named two things as the only options and the conclusion of both of them were that the allegations didn't matter

Does anyone on this site say or advocate believing all women? No, then stop bringing up dumb social media libz and just talk to us, you can tweet at them instead to call them dumb. It's hard to have a conversation with you when you instantly go to this as it implies this is the position I'm taking when I've never said anything of the sort.

It wasn’t just Quack from what I read, it was also a dude named Kobald and Icarus.

Quack is accused of abuse and neglect while Icarus is accused of physical abuse, and Kobald is accused physical and mental abuse against several women.
