Chael Sonnen offered up two responses to recent words made by former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson while serving as an analyst on UFC Tonight. Jackson sounded off that Sonnen should retire because of the performance he put forth against UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva recently.
Quote:
The first response given by Sonnen was as an analyst. He said, "'Rampage' has one fight left in the UFC and he isn't fighting me. I give you that answer because I'm sitting here wearing my fancy suit, with an ear piece on and I have been branded an analyst on the No. 1 UFC show on TV today."
Sonnen went on, though, to say, "But if you had asked me outside, in my kingdom, and I was wearing my sponsor's shirt, I would have told him that he should stick to violating female reporters. He should stick to making box office disasters, and driving the wrong way on the freeway ramped up on Mountain Dew. He's not on my level."
Sonnen sat back in his chair with his UFC mug after leaving those remarks. It is possible that Jackson, who is set to face Glover Teixeira at UFC 153 later this year, could always resign with the UFC. And, if Sonnen is serious about a move to 205, the two would make for a very interesting bout.
I say let them fight. Get Rampage Locked in for atleast one more fight after UFC 153. It'd be a fun fight to watch i think.
