I assume Vince would just hire them all back the next week, or perhaps just show up at the end of Raw and stop them from being fired in the first place and remind The Authority of the limits of their power. If The Authority win tomorrow night, this will simply set up the "power struggle" angle between them and Vince that will culminate at Wrestlemania next year (that's been rumored forever), and this would be a decent way of furthering the tension between them because The Authority don't like not having 100% power and being told they can't fire whom they please, and they're already pissed with Vince over putting their power at stake in the Survivor Series match anyhow.

Umm, there is something on the line for Team Cena, actually. If they lose, they get fired.

Team Cena will lose, I believe. But getting fired is, umm... :dawg:
Yeah, well, there is that I suppose. I don't recall that being there in the beginning, but sometimes I just don't pay as much attention as I should. The whole build up for this ppv just seems so forced that I find it hard to focus on it. I'll shut up now.

That whole 'If Team Cena loses, they get fired' stipulation was announced this past Friday on SmackDown. It's cool if you haven't watched it or paid attention to it, SD's a crappy show, anyways. There's not much to be excited about.

Nah, don't shut up. You have every right to voice your opinion.

You should stick around more, bro.

From a business perspective (the only way WWE looks at things) this makes so much sense it's unreal.

So they want people to sign up for the Network while it's free and give that thing a spin, feeling confident in the content it offers. They offer a formerly big show like Survivor Series away that month to not only end the Authority angle, but make a stipulation that makes it completely obvious to make sure people want to see the end of a "faction" so hated that John Cena even got cheered.

It's a shame it's 2014 and everyone will go back to streaming the PPV next month

Yeah, I haven't watch SD yet. At this point I probably won't.

To me that seems to obviously indicate that Team Cena is going to win the match. But I still think Randy Orton is going to do something to throw a monkey wrench in The Authority's plan that helps TC. And because of that HHH and Steph are not going to go quietly (not that I would expect them to anyway).

I'll be around more often. The past 4 to 6 months have been ridiculous for me with lots of 12 hour days at work. I was just being silly about the shut up part. I have never not felt welcome here on this forum.

I'll be rooting for Team Authority all the way.

By the way, it's too early to end The Authority right now, they should do it at WM31, with the same kinda stipulation that we have now.

I'm interested in seeing how they execute this one, should be good.

It's great to see you back, always nice to see a quality wrestling poster around here. :bodallas:

Didn't they kayfabe injure Ryback on Smackdown? Guess that's how Orton gets in

I just figured Orton was going to show up regardless.

I will watch tonight. I was wondering about whether to watch SS or TWD, but I can DVR that so decision made. I too am curious to see where they are going to go, but for me The Authority storyline is starting to drag along. Maybe it was partly due to the build up for the ppv during the last month, but I've seen plenty of "The boss screws the talent" storylines and just having them going after Cena kinda bores me. I find myself hoping that Ziggler actually benefits the most from this, but he has had so many stalled and halted pushes I don't want to get my hopes up for him. :p

I just can't buy into the Authority disliking Cena. The Authority was created to protect the WWE image so lil' short troll lookin' dudes like Daniel Bryan and psychopaths like Ambrose can't tarnish the company's reputation and their posters. So for them to be so butthurt over Cena just saying "I don't wanna be on your team" blows... but...

In kayfabe, the firing stipulation DOES make sense. Everyone BUT Cena's career is on the line, and they all agreed to be on Team Cena after the stipulation was made, so HHH being like "you wanna help us get ousted well fuck you buddy I'm firing your ass" to all of them is actually good storytelling.

Just sucks that there's so little heat or sizzle or excitement to "good storytelling".

If Bryan wasn't injured, we'd have gotten Team Bryan, instead of Team Cena. They just decided to go with Team Cena (even though it doesn't make too much sense for 'em to dislike Cena, him being the product of the system), 'cause he was the only top babyface left, besides D-Bry.

Yeah, since Cena's career is the only one which is not on the line... Tonight, we may witness a 9 on 1 beatdown. lol

If Bryan wasn't injured, I fully believe the entire Cena storyline from MITB would have been for Bryan instead which would have SO MUCH BETTER (even though that would mean Bryan could get squashed at Summerslam :( ) and..

It's kind of a coincidence that when Bryan was hurt, Cesaro and Heyman were still a pairing. Then they just lost interest later on. Now we can tell in the product that the top guys - especially Cena - have a long-term plan for them. I wonder if the original Summerslam plan was Lesnar vs Bryan and Cena vs Cesaro?

I agree. But it is what it is now. At least D-Bry would've held it for good 4-5 months before dropping it to Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Plus, I don't think they would've just fed Bryan to Lesnar the way they did with Cena, mainly because these two would bring something different to the table, I'm positive the match 'tween Lesnar and Bryan would've kicked so much ass. That's just my opinion, though. But yeah, Bryan going down to Lesnar would've been inevitable either way. In what fashion, it's a shame we'll never know.

- Here's to hoping that by some miracle he returns by January and gets the push again. One can dream, for sure.

Yes, Lesnar vs Bryan and Cena vs Cesaro would've been awesome, man! :yay:

EDIT:
If Bryan wasn't injured, we'd have gotten some quality program with Bryan going against Cesaro and Wyatt in the meantime, and ultimately dropping it to Lesnar.
