According to county records, an arrest warrant was filed on July 28 and Wheeler pled not guilty through a lawyer on August 3. He was then arrested by the Orlando Police Department this morning. A hearing has been scheduled for later today.
Further information regarding the incident that led to the charge is not currently available.
AEW issued a statement in response to the news.
"AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities,” the company stated to the Orlando Sentinel.
According to Hanlon Law, the maximum penalty for the charge in Florida is five years in prison or five years probation, plus a $5000 fine. The firm notes that even first-time offenders can face jail time for the offense.
That bit is legit, have a screenshot from the County records for his case below.I read on reddit so grain of salt there is a hearing at 1 pm
I don't understand either how you can be "wanted" if you already plead not guilty and have a court dateFlorida has some weird laws going on. Warrant on July 28th? I assume he was out of state and they didn't see it as big enough deal to have another agency process the booking? He pleads not guilty on August 3rd, Orlando is just like take your time, we'll book you and set up an arraignment eventually. Then today instead of letting him turn himself in, which by the rest of this he should have known was coming since he alread plead not guilty. Today they arrest him? Unless it's purely on the basis of flight risk cause someone figured out his upcoming schedule.
Yeah he should have ceased having a warrant when he plead I would think. I think it's soley they're claiming flight risk.I don't understand either how you can be "wanted" if you already plead not guilty and have a court date
I know way too little about the law anyways to comment further but yeah, I don't get it beyond that. just weird to not let people turn themselves in.Yeah he should have ceased having a warrant when he plead I would think. I think it's soley they're claiming flight risk.
Listen, Beth Phoenix replaces Cash Wheeler in the match, i would pop.
