I hated AEW Cody. He was borderline channel-changing. I love WWE Cody.

The difference between AEW Cody and WWE Cody is that in AEW Cody always felt like he was presented as a midcard guy who was being forced on everyone all day every day. When Cody came back to WWE he was treated as a STAR. And as such the fans see him as one. Part of this also may be the fact that he was an EVP so it did feel like he was forcing himself on the viewing audience, even if he wasn't. Hell I kinda get similar feelings for Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

Cody has always been solid in the ring, and in WWE he seems like a good person. As such you want to root for him.



In all honesty Cody's return has always felt like the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32). You can argue that Cody didn't squander his opportunity like the Prodigal Son did (I'd say the no World Title thing and his inability to be a main event guy makes the analogy work). Hell the Rollins/Rhodes feud as a whole was pretty much retelling that story as Rollins was the so-called good Son who stayed and built the company while the other one left and threw it all away but was welcomed back with a heroes welcome. Which hell makes the WM40 teaming even better.

I talked about Cody and Jesus in the same post.. Hey at least one of them was able to end racism whereas the other has racism happen in His name...

Not to be combative, but I always think it's hilarious when people talk about the IWC ON THE INTERNET. Face it, you are part of the IWC. Everyone here is part of it. I don't get this mindset that people have that they can come onto wrestling sites, talk about wrestling all the time ONLINE, but claim that they are not part of the IWC.

As far as Cody Rhodes goes, there are many reasons why PEOPLE like him. Personally, I am not the hugest Cody fan. I was personally sick of the Bloodline story and wanted someone else to have the belt than Roman. It got irritating to me.

Cody and WWE invoked the name of Dusty Rhodes into this angle. A lot of the love for Cody is because of his father and the family legacy. Dusty was incredibly popular and that legacy went to Cody. Dustin, unfortunately, became too much of a joke with Goldust. So it fell onto Cody. A lot of that cheering was for Dusty.

People like things or people because they find it appealing. It's not something that needs to be explained, why you like something.
