"Britney Spears has always been a tough act to follow and Beyonce and Lady GaGa are about to find out why. The megastar’s new single, ‘Hold It Against Me’, has roared onto the Billboard Pop chart, debuting at #16 on the tally with a record-breaking 4,071 plays.

Not only has the song entered the tally with the highest 1st-week detections in the 18-year history of the chart but is also tied with Madonna’s ‘Frozen’ for the 2nd highest debut on the Pop format.

However, even the Queen and Princess of Pop could not dethrone head diva Mariah Carey’s ‘Dreamlover’ which entered the lineup at #12 in 1993. Girl power."

Britney Spears’ ‘Hold It Against Me’ has officially dominated all competition this week. The superstar’s 1st single from her soon-to-be-released studio album has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

As her 2nd consecutive #1 entry following 2009’s ‘3′, the tracks earns Spears the honor of being only the 2nd artist to have multiple #1 debuts on the tally after 1 of her idols, Mariah Carey. However, Carey, who was the 1st female and 2nd artist ever to debut at the top spot, still keeps her crown as the chart’s queen by being the only act in history to have 3 consecutive #1 entries with 1995’s ‘Fantasy’ and ‘One Sweet Day’, and ‘Honey’ in 1997.

Even at radio Spears could not manage to dethrone Carey. Although Spears’ ‘Hold It Against Me’ enters the Radio Songs chart at #23 with a record 45 million 1st week audience impressions, the track merely tied with the diva’s ‘Touch My Body’ which debuted at the same spot the week of March 1, 2008. That Mariah reign just won’t let up!
