But being in that lame ass Varsity Club wasn't doing him any favours, nor was playing generic white meat babyface, just looked like a geek who's whole gimmick was "my dad was Brian Pillman"....Jungleboy was already doing that gimmick.

That's also a very good point, you could tell TK wanted to try and capitalize on the Pillman dark side which shouldn't have been as obvious as it was even if that was the goal

I think Pillman Jr has potential and liked his work in MLW but he never really clicked in AEW when given chances. I also think some of his behaviour backstage might not have helped him (Punk went from wanting to work with him to mocking Pillman being a dumbass at times on twitter). Him leaving AEW is probs for the best and maybe he can restart in MLW or Impact

Somehow CM Punk is being blamed for this because he said he wanted to work with him, and then clowned him for his social media posts.

Stretch Armstrong shit......but there was a window to see if they could get him over after that Darkside episode and nothing really happened, was still in a DOA tag team, wasn't really given promo time to show if he could be a Starks who knocked his chance out the park or shat the bed.

The best motivator, take all the bookings, make a name for yourself and stick the critics opinions right up their ass.

Ah. I can't say I saw much in him. I feel like he got signed too early and was a touch too green to be put on a major platform without having the character or personality to make up for it, so after his major chance & the obvious 'heel shits on Pillman Snr for heat, BPJ attempts to avenge' feud with MJF, I'm not surprised he got depushed. The end of the TazCalibur Dark Podcast Show really put a dent in watching lowcard guys like BPJ and others progress into better workers, unfortunately.

He's young and has a whole possible world ahead of him, he just has to put in the work. There's something to work with there, he needs a fair bit more seasoning to figure that out. I'm sure he'll pop back up somewhere, a trip through the indies and landing somewhere else for a spell could do him wonders.
