As we reported just moments ago, Bret Hart has signed a short term talent deal with WWE that will go into effect on January 1st, 2010.

At this time, The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Hart is expected to debut with the company as the special guest host of Raw on January 4th, which of course goes head-to-head with TNA Impact that night.

Additionally, it's being said that Hart's talent deal does not expire until April 10th, 2010, and it is expected that Hart's work with WWE will not be limited to just one appearance as Raw's guest host. In fact, there is talk at this time of Bret possibly wrestling one more match, but that is simply speculation at the moment and nothing has been confirmed.

Now a lot of people saw this coming but now its official i guess.
A good way to shut hogan and TNA up!
Thoughts?

Not sure about the timing of the initial appearance... Cos both Hogan & Bret are likely to appeal to a similar age-group, but I'm sure a lot of fans will be excited at the prospect of a return from The Hitman.

IMO, a mentor role to facilitate a Hart Dynasty push would be sufficient and the fact that a) those dates cover the road to WM and b) DX now have the tag belts is encouraging.

I'll believe the '1 more match' shit when I see it.

I am conflicted about this.

No, no, I promise. It's "Bret Hart." One "t."

Anyway, as for this, kewl. If DH Smith didn't suck, I would advocate Hart Foundation/Bret Hart vs DX/Vince McMahon for Wrestlemania, but that sounds like too much of a rub for Smith. It would still be fun, though, and maybe DH Smith could get injured during it.

I really doubt he'll have another match but since his contract ends in April i could see this guest host this ending and Hart to become GM?

HBK Vs Bret Hart at Mania would be fucking amazing. I see Bret coming back and doing something as GM, then hopefully he begins to manage Hart Dynasty who have a good long feud with DX for the belts, I somehow see Bret Vs Vince at Mania though, if Bret is indeed signed until April I could see him Vs Vince, it would just be slow paced and Vince would get owned, kind of like when it was HBK Vs Vince at Mania.

Still though just seeing bret back would be good, if he's on TV when Hogan is it'll be interesting, obviously RAW would get the better rating but it would be interesting to see if TNA lost viewers or still gained some with Hogan. Haven't seen anything like this in a while.

Yeah sorta like Hogan Vs Vince at Wm 19. but still doubt he'll be in the ring i dont think he can physically do that anymore since with all that problems that he had with his body in the past. but yeah can totally see Hart managing the hart dynasty against DX

I'd rather him become manager of Hart Dynasty than become guest host. With DX having the tag belts and his history with HBK, that'd make for a good story. Even if the guy debuts on Jan. 4, I'm still watching iMPACT.

The spoilers I read were just match listing and who won. No promos, no backstage stuff, nothing. Got a link to the spoilers?
