Yeah it's super similar to that. The real issue is that Orton cashing in was halfway teased at least leading up? At worst, we knew he had the briefcase going in. Moose was a complete afterthought to the point that anyone watching Impact for a Moose push probably did not watch BFG at all of they didn't care about the rest lol

As long as they hold off on doing Josh vs Moose one on one and don't screw Josh like 4 straight matches in a row like WWE did Bryan then he aftermath should be better tho tbh

I kinda pieced it together today that the show closing angle was probably meant to be very similar to when Orton cashed in on Bryan at the end of SummerSlam 2013.

Only, it wasn't Bryan's first world title win and SummerSlam 2013 wasn't a disappointing show leading up to that moment.

I kinda think that is the main problem for me. This show needed that feel good moment to close it to make it not feel like a waste. Whole show was mediocre, to put it somewhat kindly, and then I didn't even get the final payoff I wanted. :lol

Pretty much how I felt. I was not sent home happy and the rest of the show was nowhere near good enough for me to be like "ok well thats annoying but this show ruled so i can forgive it"

It's just classic TNA/Impact self-sabotage to invest months in building up an organically over talent who fans are 100% ready to see get to that next level, and you throw it all out the window for the sake of a short term buzz and shock value. I'm not condemning Josh's run just yet but Impact does have a bad track record when it comes to these things and I don't see how him beating Moose will be a bigger or better moment to kick off a proper run than what this would have been. It feels like a very knee-jerk move to make up for the lack of surprises that many were expecting and didn't come to fruition.

Sometimes you should just give the fans what they want and save the swerves for some other time. :lol

It's kind of a disservice to Moose too I think lol like he does win at the biggest show of the year like we were expecting months ago but he deserved some build at least:lol not a 5 second match that we barely comprehended before it went off air

Yeah like I said in the live thread when it happens, I feel like I've been spoiled watching TK's show and this felt like you said...very knee jerk/short term heat (he got cheered anyways). I also 100% agree with you that unless they do this massive ppv in Toronto when Josh beats the shit out of Moose and beats him clean as a whistle , you're not getting a bigger moment than a years worth of build in the x to cash in option C.Just...yeah...I wanted to see Josh's run and was going to be hype for impact this week. now? meh

Sabin beating Moose ended up making sense bc it but up Josh beating Sabin being a bigger deal...which then sold Josh in the main event of this show:lol

I think there's there's a real good chance Moose was never planned to walk out with the gold until they felt they had to deliver on some "surprises" like EC said with whatever happened with Braun and whoever else falling through

yeah if that's true that's really really dumb and if I'm Josh I think I'd actually be kind of pissed off? idk, its wrestling lol, I just felt he got done dirty there.

But in the flip side, how heavy handed they were with the sympathy for Josh could have been for this heat all along so coulda been planned lol

Maybe I’m missing some build up, but wasn’t Josh just the X-Division Champion that did that option C thing to get a random title match with Christian?

I think now he’s got more of an actual story to build off for his real title reign to kick off when he wins it back.

um no, he cleaned out the entire division in one of the most dominant x division runs ever. he was built up like crazy. moose was an afterthought after he lost to kenny.
