I will disagree. 1 arguably country song does not make you a country artist. I however didn't discount it as much as a lot of people did or for the reasons. I guess my problem was I just didn't like the song. It reminded me of a kids song, which Ironically it did go onto a kidz bop album so...

John Denver is the perfect example of someone totally qualifying as country and country hating them for it. Though back in the day if you were using country to get popular enough to jump to another genre they'd beat your ass publicly. Now a days they just call that person Taylor Swift lol
I will disagree with one thing that you said about if over a certain age they won't play your music. Waylon, Cash, and Willie all played later in life than what you stated and they made the airwaves.....now the others not as much unless they are huge.

I have always felt. Neil and Denver were that in-between that could be seen as one or the other.

I guess I should have clarified that I'm speaking of now. Like since the 2000s if your a country artist over the age of 50 they age you out. They'll still play you in the classics category. But the likely hood that you'll hear a new song from an older artist is very very slim.

Because they lost their house, their wife, the kids, the car, and the dog. They are just drinking it away.

I was worried about matchups when I saw the Playlist but other than that one, it worked out well bc all my top songs were against ones I wasn't as high on

I worked on country radio I had to debate why we weren't playing it constantly. I guess that mentality popped back into my brain.
