If I had to listen a whole of album of the Rat Pack, y’all can deal with a catalog of well produced covers that has a selection of nearly a hundred songs. :cudi

Those are some of the most legendary artists of all time. You should be honored

I don’t have a bad word to say about them, but they were before my time and not my choice of style of music to listen to of my own volition.

And the same can be said here. Nearly every song is a professionally produced cover of a song and artist you could call legendary.

The point is there’s been many themes that maybe didn’t resonate with everyone, but they could find something they could use for it and voted and kept it moving. And the thing is I think this is mostly just high browing the show when if you actually listed to the music you would enjoy some of it.

I was born in 1998 so by that logic I shouldn’t like any music before 25 years ago :lol

If you didn’t, I wouldn’t give you a hard time. That’s the point.

Also, there’s a certain evolution of music where I’d argue music from the late 90s is not too far from how it sounds today, but the difference between their era and the 80s is a lot steeper.

Yeah I'm with Sabs on this one, not liking music because it was before your time is a really poor excuse to not like music. I do understand not liking the music though as it's obviously subjective.

Are you telling me you don’t hear a clear difference in the way it sounds and is produced compared to later music?

I don't recall saying or thinking that. I just think you didn't need to add that it was before your time. A lot of music I like was before my time.

Here’s the thing I also didn’t say it being before my time meant I couldn’t like it. I’m just saying I don’t.

My point is the music is objectively different and subjectively I don’t care for it.

There are younger millennials and Gen Z kids that say the same thing about music and art I grew up with. If the feeling is different they might not enjoy it. The point isn’t you can’t enjoy it. It’s that it’s different enough that I personally don’t.

I like a lot of stuff from the early 80s and 70s from before I was born. It’s not a time issue. It’s that the Rat Pack is even further back. They’re what the 40s? That’s a considerable cultural difference. I never said it was bad music or anyone else shouldn’t enjoy it. I just don’t.

I think what’s getting lost in this is Sabs is the one who was being snobby about not being able to find anything enjoyable in a catalog of 100 covers. I was just making a snarky joke.

its not that you're a piece of shit. you're just quite self righteous, despite not being a know-all of all types of music.

Did I ever claim to know all types of music :lol
I don’t really think that’s even possible.
