2001 was the end of my first year in college and the start of my second year and the college cafeteria had TVs playing some sort of music video channel, so I remember a few of these songs from that.

I started my sophomore year of high school in 2001 and a lot of these songs were a big part of that time for me in school.

Probably because I love a lot of older movies and music. 60s-80s has some of my favorite music, then I love some 70s and 80s movies also.

He's almost 50

I grew up in the 80's and listened to a lot of Billy Joel, Elton John, and Phill Collins on the radio before a radio station came around playing 50's and 60's music. For a long time in the 90's and 00's I wasn't really into modern music at the time, with a few exceptions, including No Mercy who had a one-hit wonder in the late 90's with "Where Do You Go". I was really listening to 80's pop and new wave as well as artists like Billy Joel, Elton John, Phil Collins, and The Beach Boys. My interest in modern music really came back with the band La Roux who had the dance-pop hit "Bulletproof".

I listened to a lot of oldies growing up thanks to my Dad. A lot of The Beatles and The Monkees.

Man. I was 25 when that year ended and 2 years put of college.

I was way into the Monkees, they had a comeback in the 80s
