idk if I told this story before, but my dad was flying (he's a commercial pilot) during the attack. He was rerouted 3 times, including the first time to Pennsylvania until they changed their minds as the airport closed for obvious reasons. He was a few minutes away from potentially getting shot out of the sky and was running low on fuel. crazy story, crazy day. Managed to land on the canadian border at a military base

Why would he get shot out of the sky

Because he was in US airspace and they were grounding all planes. Anyone who did not comply was gonna get shot down by the US military . The issue was everytime he was redirected to an airport it would close as he approached.
