Bloody Elbow said:
Pedro Carrasco, the MMA news director of BJPenn.com addressed the bizarre tweet on the MMA forum the UG:

"Pedro Carrasco - and there is a reason why he posted it, He is fired up because now that the holidays are over and a lot of his post-fight distractions are behind him he has nothing to do but think about things and he is not happy with the way he performed in his last several fights.

I am not here to make excuses for him, but I am pretty sure people, at least with some sense of intelligence, can identify that the BJ that fought Edgar, Fitch and Diaz was not the same Penn that fought the Diego's and Florians of the world

Things changed, but as it sits right now, he is back. That killer mentality and fire is back and it's been brewing for a while now and today's tweet is a result of it just boiling over!

Expect more from Penn to come for sure! "

In other news, Tito is BACK and INJURY FREE for the first time in YEARS.

Heard it all before, and will hear it all again after he loses to someone else.

I don't see where he fits if he does come back though.

Don't get me wrong, I love BJ more than most (pun intended), but hes been thouroughly outclassed by Edgar twice at 155lbs, and i'd fancy most in the division to beat him now too. Its too stacked.

As for welterweight, he just doesnt look the same guy. Hes small for lightweight, let alone 170lbs.

I'd fancy his chances if they put him in Strikeforces lightweight division, and I really like a Melendez/Penn fight, but thats pretty much his only valid option tbh.

You knew it couldn't take long for Team Cesar Gracie to respond to BJ Penn's hotheaded Twitter rant and, right on cue, they've issued a rebuttal to the fiery Hawaiian via GracieFighter:

"BJ Penn has apparently not come to terms with the beating he received at the hands of Nick Diaz. Below is his latest posting on his Twitter account:

@nickdiaz209 Look how much bigger you are in this pic..I thought you were gonna scrap from the beginning homie? What was that coward fence holding strategy to tire out the smaller man? Street fighter my ass! I made you fight like glass jaw @jonfitchdotnet poser! I'll be ready for that weak bs next time we fight!

"At some point it is up to those around you to protect you from yourself. To take you aside and let you know you are wrong and help save you from your folly. Unfortunately for Penn he is surrounded by "Yes Men" that are unwilling to do that. The outcome will be predictable, resulting in a fighter that will never push himself to the fullest and will always have excuses for his losses."

It's true, he ALWAYS finds an excuse for every single one of his fights. He should just accept the fact that he got his ass kicked and move on.

Penn is in the same boat as Brock in that... he has guys that will always cater to him and tell him what he wants to hear instead of what he needs to hear. Penn is extraordinary in that he can learn quick and is very talented but... he reached a plateau. At one time he was at the top of the chain but the game has continued to evolve whereas Penn has remained in the same spot. He needs to get a better camp... a real camp that will show him how to improve, how to up his game... otherwise all we are going to have are excuses for when he loses.

And the Twitter war between Penn/Diaz continues.

Unsurprisingly, the hot-tempered Hawaiian didn't take kindly to Gracie's rebuttal, so he offered one of his own:

@CesarGracieBJJ Excuses?? The whole world knows I lost the fight including myself. I'm tired of you talking down to me Cesar, I hope you're in training camp right now because the next time I see you, you better not be "scared homie!"

He should stay retired because a return won't turn out well for him. If he faces Diaz then he will be in for a beating and then will probably have half a dozen excuses for why he didn't win. Why is it so hard for these guys to stay retired and see that they aren't the fighter they used to be?
