Not sure if this will quite work but the idea is that someone comes up with a wrestler and makes a case for them being either a better heel or a better face, then another person who feels the oppisite is true can make their case however if the second person agrees with the first person then we move onto the next wrestler which that person will choose and argue for. Try and make them quite interesting so for example if your one of the few people who think that Randy Orton makes a better face then that could provide an interesting debate. If it doesn't quite work out we can at least have a fun debate!:mark:

I will go first with a fairly safe choice and put Booker T forward as a better face than heel. Althrough in Harlem Heat he made a better heel if you look at his singles career which lets face it made up most of his career than I would say he had his greatest success as a face and was most over when playing that role.

His natural charasma and bubbling trash talking always seem to pop the crowd up and his high risk ring style ans mixture of high kicks and brawling made him a very liverly and eye catching performer. In WCW he really started to get good crowd reactions during his Television Title feuds with the likes of Rick Martel, Perry Saturn and Finley as well as his criticially acclaimed best of seven series with the late Chris Benoit. The people really seem to respect his down to earth natural character and his energy in the ring, however it was later in WWE Where this was combined to great effect with his more character driven catch phase face run. Booker also showed during this period how adapt he was at working with a number of different guys this was never more so true than with the effective odd couple tag partneship with Goldust, the pair were very over, entertaining and their rise to tag title glory was truly compelling. His stint in TNA never got off the ground as either face or heel.

At times Booker has been a effective heel for example in his entertaining King Booker run but overall he just seem more at ease as a face and that is when he really had that connection with the fans.

So Booker T Better Heel or Better Face?

I agree.

Chris Jericho - obviously better as a heel, because c'mon...he's CHRIS JERICHO. His snark is unparallelled in the industry (apart from maybe - MAYBE - The Rock), and of course he gets to use it much more when being an asshole. Plus, he is not afraid to go that extra mile and be outrageous (an example, the recent shenanigans with the flag in Brazil, or that match with the fake Goldberg at that WCW PPV). He really makes you want to throw things at his smug face, while at the same time making you cheer for him with his DX-style pranks and putdowns of other wrestlers (and himself - anyone remember the 'fireworks' from his entrance on the match I just mentioned?)

So yeah - much better heel, even though he gets over as both because he's motherfuckin' Chris Jericho.

Booker was a better heel IMO.

His face runs were very forgettable, aside from the Goldust tag team which was pretty funny but still meaningless. I'd argue he never really got over as a top face. The King Booker gimmick was gold, easily made him one of the best heels of the decade and probably the best usage of the king gimmick since Owen Hart.

Jericho is a harder one to call, because he had the exact same traits a lot of the time whether face or heel. He got peoples names wrong purposely (sp?) and degraded women, which you'd typically asscociate with a heel. His suit wearing, corportae run was very, very boring IMO. His promos were repetitive ("you fans are parasites!"), wheras when he was a heel in WCW he was quick witted and funny and a very good antagonist. He got Malenko over huge as a face ffs.

There are only like 5 guys in wrestling history that are better faces than heels. It's just the way it is.

I agree with Cork on Booker when he was King Booker but if you look at his heel run when he switched SD in 2004 (feud with Taker) it just didn't work and certainly in WCW he was more over as a face.

Jericho got over big as a face in WWF in like 2000/01 because they were just so good at booking that sort of character plus it was more about the wrestling then which played into his hands but overall he was born to play a heel.

Are you suggesting Eddie as a better heel TKK? That is a tough call he was a very effective heel in WCW and decent in WWE but I really enjoyed his face character there altrough it was maybe a little cartoonish. Think I will leave that call up to someone else as I am divided lol.
