AMC announced in a joint statement with Sony Pictures TV today that they are moving forward with “Breaking Badâ€￾ spinoff “Better Call Saul.â€￾ The network and studio have so far reached a licensing agreement for the hourlong drama.

I really think this could go either way. I see them trying to make it more comical with just him.

It will be, I was halfway expecting it to only be 30 minutes as opposed to the hour long drama that this says it will be.

Think it'll fail as a comedy.

I've only seen the first three seasons of Breaking Bad but I'm extremely happy for Odenkirk. Mr. Show was awesome and he deserves some damn recognition. I'll catch up to Breaking Bad eventually and will probably give this show a whirl.

Looking forward to this. Saul is such a good character in Breaking Bad and I am glad that the show will, in a way, be continuing. Not too sure how it is going to work, definitely see a bit more humour being injected into it but still being a dark drama.

Bob Odenkirk Back in Albuquerque Filming Season 6 of Better Call Saul, Scenes Without Bob Filmed While He Recovered.
renderTimingPixel.png

Tony Dalton's quote from 2 weeks ago on filming S6 scenes without Bob -

"Right now we’re filming all the scenes where he’s not in and waiting until he’s given the green light to film. There's a lot of break dancing this season, so we obviously need him in good shape. But the truth is, despite everything this business entails, the most important thing is that he’s healthy. I mean, it’s someone’s life. Nothing is more important."

I've only seen up to the end of season 3. I got into Breaking Bad after the series had finished airing so I got to binge the whole thing over a week. I'm planning on re-watching/watching the entire Better Call Saul once the show comes to an end. But I was very impressed with the first 3 seasons so far.

A great prequel series. Fingers crossed we get the final seasons in 2022.

Might as well bump this up. They've dropped the trailer for Season 6. I'm glad this show has done so well, I need to give it a proper go eventually.

We haven’t seen the last of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Better Call Saul” co-creator Peter Gould has officially confirmed that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will guest star in the final season of the “Breaking Bad” spinoff.

Gould announced the news Saturday at PaleyFest LA on a “Better Call Saul” panel moderated by Variety television editor Michael Schneider, though Gould was tight-lipped on exactly when Cranston and Paul will show up or in what capacity.

“I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah,” Gould said on the panel. “How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”

“If you can believe it, there’s more,” star Bob Odenkirk teased, but Gould cut him off before he said too much.

Before making the PaleyFest announcement, Gould attended the “Better Call Saul” premiere on Thursday and told Variety, “These two worlds cross over in a way that you haven’t seen before, that’s for sure.” Co-creator Vince Gilligan told Variety, “It would be a damn shame if the show ended without [Cranston and Paul] appearing, would it not?”

On the Thursday red carpet, Odenkirk told Variety, “I personally feel that the two shows — ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ — are entwined even more than ever in the final season. And I think that’s surprising and cool, and it’s gonna make you want to watch ‘Breaking Bad’ again.”

“Better Call Saul” stars Rhea Seehorn and Giancarlo Esposito directed the fourth and sixth episodes of this season, respectively, it was also announced at PaleyFest.

Many other characters from “Breaking Bad” have made their way into “Better Call Saul” throughout its first five seasons, including Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis), Don Eladio (Luis Politti) and the Salamanca twins (Luis and Daniel Moncada). Even Hank Schrader (Dean Norris) and Steven Gomez (Steven Michael Quezada) made cameos.

Gould and Odenkirk were joined by “Better Call Saul” cast members Seehorn, Esposito, Jonathan Banks, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando and Tony Dalton at PaleyFest LA, which started April 2 and runs until April 10 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
