So you're about to quit your job...

May you put in a two week's notice, maybe you didn't. Irrelevant.

How do you spend your last day there? Do you go on about your business like any other day because you want to leave on a high note, do you go out in a blaze of glory and fuck someone over you didn't like (or just be a total asshole all day), neglect your duties and just fuck off all day, or just not even show up?

You may even say I'm looking for suggestions. :Typing:

You leave on a high note. You want to be remembered for being a good employee and if you ever need a reference, they can provide it to you without hesitation.

Maybe, but if I did decide to piss someone off, it wouldn't be someone that I would ever list as a reference.

I put Blaze of glory but it depends on what the job was. If it was a job I never liked in the first place I would just no show. If it was a job I actually liked but then lately it started becoming shitty for whatever reason then I would purposely act like an ass.

Show up drunk, you seem really good at that already Cerbs.

Joking aside I would probably not show up because I'm notorious for that.

Seeing as I work in a hardware store I'd probably just walk around and talk shit with people and ditch customers whenever they needed help. Also take extra breaks.

Oh... I'm already doing this.

This might actually go on with me for the next two weeks.

I know when my final day at my first job ended... I went out on a high note. I did everything I could. I worked as hard as I could that day. I made them regret seeing me leave. Means that references will be better and you'll get better praise from them on your next job. I'm looking to leave this crap job soon and I'ma keep trying to keep things on a high note cause right now I have a few managers that have a high opinion of me so the more higher ups I have the more references I have and the better I'll look when my asst. managers can say that I was a very good and dependable worker.

Never know when you'll have to deal with them in the future and if you mess it up it can bite you later.

Just no show.

FYI, by law an employer can't give you a bad reference. (at least that's how it works in the UK, not sure elsewhere)

Ha come to think of it I do take extra breaks, but lately I haven't been getting many shifts so I've been working hard the ones I am working. I do talk shit with people though, that's a must to get me through the day.

Exactly, I feel the same way. Normally I would just be sarcastic with people, but lately I've even resorted to outright mocking them. And people on the phone I'm supposed to be nice and suck up to, I don't even hide it when I'm sighing with frustration at their ignorance anymore.

Venting to co-workers is fine but being rude to people is completely different. If you want to be respected in life, it isn't polite to treat people badly, especially at work.
