TNA President Dixie Carter posted the following on Twitter:

Excited to have signed @AustinAries to a long term deal. I share the story on TNA Today TODAY.

Ugh, not too pleased on this news at all. Don't see why he would sign a LONG TERM contract with such a bad company. But I guess that means it will be about a 2 year deal? Cause that's how long TNA has until it's gone.

He will never reach his full potential or get serious exposure until he signs with the WWE. Let's say if you bring up Punks name and Aries name to a casual wrestling fan, they won't have a clue who Aries is. Which is a shame.

They must have offered Aries a shit ton of money, likely a long title reign too. If it were me in his position I wouldn't have took such a long deal with TNA either, but if Aries is happy with the way things are going for him there, it's unsurprising he wants to stay happy. For TNA to lock him down for such a long time, they must have serious plans for him.

Hatred you do realize that WWE does it's absolute best when there's competition involved, such as WCW. Keep that in mind as you wish death upon the only company even coming a little close. Your TNA hate is one of the most entertaining things on the site however, so I'm kind of torn on what I actually want you to do.

Anyway, this is very good news for TNA having a star like Aries, who you can easily build the company around, locked down. I'm also interested to know what exactly Dixie considers a long term deal. TNA's been making a lot of good decisions lately, let's hope they keep it up. This is the best TNA's been since 06-07.

I actually watched TNA last week, his promo with Roode was pretty damn good. I really love how much the crowd was behind him. Aries is the perfect guy to be the face of the company! He can easily build the company to what it used to be.

This makes a lot of sense to me from both sides. He will be a top star in TNA and TNA needs top billing types for prolonged periods. I don't know why he wouldn't sign he should get top billing for the remainder of the deal.

They just got a long term viewer with this signing as well. Aries got me back into TNA, and reminded me why I love wrestling so much.

Oh, and newsflash, not EVERYONE needs to be in the WWE. Let's see what he can do for this company.

He's still getting some TV time, and Spike does have quite the following. I think he'll get some decent exposure on Spike, and some fans may even chant his name at WWE events some day.

So other words you started this thread just as a excuse to bash TNA again. I have been as a big critic as any of theirs in the last few years but when they do get things right and start moving in the right direction it should be seen as a good thing by wrestling fans!

Don't see why he shouldn't sign he has risen to the top in no time at all and may struggle to get a move to WWE so this is a good place for him right now, money should be decent too. Smart move by TNA.

Good for Aries to sign a long deal. He's been through so much problems to the point he almost quit wrestling not too long ago. He's been spurned by WWE before and is in a good place right now. I'm happy for Aries and hopefully he becomes something that the underachieving lame A.J Styles couldn't do which is consistently cut good promos.

I'm so excited for TNA right now. Looks like they are really trying to become legit competition for WWE. They have all the tools it takes, and from that video up there it looks like TNA might start to travel, which I think will help them. If they get out of the Impact Zone more and more I think they will really benefit.

The problem is that if they start to travel then will the older people on the roster still be able to stay. Such as Sting, Angle, RVD, Hardy, ect. Which I think is why they are starting to focus more on the younger talent, because they know they can handle a hectic travel schedule. I really thought TNA was heading towards the end, but it doesn't look like that anymore. If they stay on this path, they have a chance. A real good chance.

Also, I 100% agree with what Dixie said, if you have not watched TNA in a while, now is the time to give it a try.

Good move by TNA to get him to sign a long term deal and good on Aries for repaying TNA for the faith they put in him. They have pushed him like a star ever since he returned to the company first as X-Division champion and now as TNA champion. It would have been pretty poor of him if he left the company right after they gave him everything. He is a great person for TNA to build around and will be a star for TNA for a long time.

Great news for TNA, and I'm confident that Aries made damn sure it was great news for him too.
