Trailer for the game that debuted today, only really showing the woods and a battelfield but looks bad ass. Sure they'll be a big town to explore(Boston?)
in the game also.

Some more info on the game. Thank god no more Den Defense and the addition of hunting missions and huge 1,000 people battles so pretty great.

I too am looking forward to the game Revalations was not good too short in my view but this has a lot of competition this year in Grand Theft Auto 5, last year had Batman Arkam City, Saints Row 3, Call of Duty MW3 and Battlefield 3 as well.

A lot of red coats gave their lives for you to enjoy these new Assassin's Creed 3 screens, which leaked today on NeoGAF. But more important than the stylish slaughter of soldiers is canoeing. You can totally ride in a canoe! Assassin's Creed 3 (Leaked 3/22/2012)

Really pumped for this game. Kept seeing commercials for it during the NCAA tourny last week. Love the new concept and loved the previous games.

I am very excited for this game. I have been waiting for a long time, knowing they'd have to stop this Ezio crap.

I never played Revelations, I only played Brotherhood.

I hope that this will come out on PC as well.

With all the publicity this game is already getting, no surprise things are being leaked so early.

Definitely can't wait though, this game is going to be legendary.

Assassin's Creed 3 Special Editions Announced

Three exclusive Assassin's Creed 3 single player missions will be spread across three special editions of the game, publisher Ubisoft has announced.

The most lavish of the three releases is The Freedom Edition which includes the following swag:

  • A 24-cm high-quality figurine of Connor
  • A steelbook case art drawn by awards-winning comic artist Alex Ross
  • George Washington's notebook revealing all the truth & secrets about the Assassins and the Templars during the American Revolution.
  • One exclusive Lithograph
  • Lost Mayan Ruins single player mission: Connor's mission leads him in an old Mayan pyramid, full of mysteries and revelations. Players will be able to unlock Captain Kidd's fabled cutlass, a deadly, brutal and beautiful piece of steel.
  • Ghost of War single player mission: The tide of the Revolution turns into the Templars favor. Defeat your enemies and unlock The Pontiac's War Club, a powerful Native American weapon.
  • Multiplayer Sharpshooter package: Unleash the Sharpshooter fury in multiplayer with one new character, the Sharpshooter, one Relic, one Emblem, one special Picture and the Title of "The Jester".

The Join or Die Edition is slightly more modest, offering the following extras:

  • The medallion of the Assassins with its high-quality curd ladle
  • George Washington's notebook revealing all the truth and secrets about the Assassins and the Templars during the American Revolution.
  • Ghost of War single player mission
  • Multiplayer Sharpshooter package

Finally, the plain old Special Edition offers some snazzy packaging and an exclusive single player mission titled A Dangerous Secret that tasks you with fighting "against a secret that could jeopardise the funding of the revolution".

Complete the mission and you'll be rewarded with an exclusive weapon - a flintlock musket.

Ubisoft hasn't confirmed prices as of yet, or whether the additional content will be made available as DLC at a later date.

The game launches on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 31st October. It's also in development for PC and Wii U, though Ubisoft has yet to confirm release dates for those two versions. Head on over to our Assassin's Creed 3 preview for more details.

So.. what edition will you get? The special editions look sick.

Assassin’s Creed 3 takes placed in colonial America during the American Revolution. Stepping into the shoes of a man named Connor, a man of half English and half Native American ethnicity. After Connor’s home was brutally attacked by white colonists, Connor retaliates against the very tyrannies that lead the attack against his people. Notable figures in history will make a cameo in the game. A few in this list include, but hopefully not limited to, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Charles Lee; the premise for this game already looks incredible and breath taking. Hitching control of a lethal and armament aplenty assassin during the Revolutionary War, a war that ultimately gave true independence and birth to America, is quite spectacular to begin with. Additionally, with all the conspiracies that still exist about the war and certain historical figures, one can anticipate a storyline that will have you guessing on what will happen next whilst certain events in the game will perhaps be connoting deeper meanings in the mentalities and actions of real people that existed during the Revolutionary War.

Nevertheless, transcending from the restrictive gameplay due to technological constraints that were present in the previous two Assassin Creed games, one can expect numerous twists in the combat system to be present. However it is undoubtedly the gameplay system that made Assassin’s Creed famous and more than enjoyable will be the primary foundation of the gameplay. If you were not a fan of the series, now would be a great time to start!

Assassin’s Creed 3 is due for an October 30th, 2012 release date.

This may be the first AC game I'll get since the 1st. I borrowed and played 2 but didn't bother buying it myself. Brotherhood and Revelations just seemed weak to me. But this game has gotten my attention. Being that I love American history, and this being during the Revolution is highly intriguing to me

The Assasins Creed series have been solid so far, I don't remember any getting massive complaints off players like CoD and GOW usually do. However I hope that they don't follow the COD path by releasing sequels yearly, it ruins games franchises imo.
