An image reportedly from Assassin's Creed III has leaked.

The image allegedly comes from Best Buy's internal employee news and was sent to Kotaku by an employee.

The image clearly features Native American influences, including a bow and arrow, headdress and necklace. The character is also wearing cowskin boots and holding what appears to be a Revolutionary pistol.

This seems to confirm popular rumors that the third installment of Assassin's Creed will be set in the American Revolution. For now, we're not sure, but earlier today Ubisoft confirmed that a major announcement will be coming on Monday.

Really don't have a problem with the setting think it will def change the gameplay, as I think gun play could be a bigger focus.

AWESOME! I will miss Ezio alot, after all we've only had him for three games, but I am very excited to see the franchise moving forward. Native American spin would be cool, could the Revolution be a Templar plot. Now that would be sick. Though I expect the Templars to side with England. Though I've been wrong before haha.

Another of these games? I thought they got repetitive after the first game. Every contract felt the same.

Even I'm surprised at how fast Ubisoft has been spitting out these games every year.

Hopefully with a new main character and a drastic change of scenery, this game won't feel like another run-of-the-mill AC game.

I never bought revelations... hopefully this will take a whole different swing to the series.

Never really got into these games got 3/4 through the first one and just found it to damn repetitive not enough intriguing story for me to keep playing.

Even though the last 2 games didn't really shake up what they did, it's still one of my favorite series right now. The change in setting should def help freshen things up I just don't see the actual gameplay being really different.

Either way I'll pick this up, cause I've enjoyed the hell out of the last 3 games.

That Game Informer cover kicks fucking ass.

Can't wait until I get it in the mail. Gonna mount it next to the Mass Effect 3 cover.
