I agree, but I think it was a really, really stupid way to book the feud. There are plenty of things you can do to shock the crowd, that doesn't mean it is the good thing to do. Wrestling is storytelling, and to me, a story of the beast Brock Lesnar (which is how they will spin it now) is cooler than purposefully downplaying his chances just to shock the crowd.Nah, I'm quite sure this is what they went into the ring to do. I think they purposely booked it so people would give Brock even less of a chance then he would have had if the feud was any good/he looked like a threat so it would be the biggest shock possible. It worked! It's a moment we'll never forget, and I'm curious to see what happens going forward. Not saying it wasn't random and kinda stupid to do, but if it's a shocking moment they were going for, boy, they did it.
Yeah, me too. As I said, it's not really the best way to do it, but it's a way to do it. I was also mostly like "what?" other than jumping up and down. It does feel fishy that the streak would end in what would just end up being the worst streak matches of recent years, with Brock being built like a coward and all, but I don't know. I'm guessing they shot for this for some reason, or they changed their minds midway through it. It's true that if someone bought that Brock could break the streak, we would be invested and afraid it'd be over after a 3rd F5, but I for one wasn't even paying much attention. For example, had the streak ended with HHH's Tombstone or that SCM/Pedigree (I didn't buy the combo so much, although I bought the tombstone a bit) it would've been a much bigger reaction. I don't know, I think depending on how things move forward it'll be easier to tell.I agree, but I think it was a really, really stupid way to book the feud. I was surprised, but I wasn't emotionally invested. It was just like lol huh? It wasn't like OMG THE FUCKING STREAK IS DONE HOLYYYYYYYY SHITTTTTTTTTT!!!!!
I agree with this 100%.Yeah, me too. As I said, it's not really the best way to do it, but it's a way to do it. I was also mostly like "what?" other than jumping up and down. I agree with this 100%.
I could've seen the streak ending inside Hell In A Cell with Taker against the Game because of Shawn's help. Or with that Tombstone. What I didn't like about Brock/Taker is the fact that it ended with just 3 F5's....it was, well, pathetic if you ask me. Triple H literally beat the living shit out of Taker with a chair about 50 times....hit him with a sledge numerous times, Pedigreed him several times, Taker ate a SCM, and he still kicked out....But big bad Brock comes onto the scene and he beats him....boringly.
The match didn't have a climatic ending and it seemed that Taker didn't even put up a real fight. Granted, he was apparently injured....But Brock winning, again, what a poor decision. I'm not saying this just because I love Punk, but if I knew this was going to happen, Punk should've beaten him. Hell, I'd rather Cena beat him than Brock.....
The only thing that made this match great....was the shock value...no one really seen that shit coming.
