First of all because the title reign isn't even with the WWE Championship.

It’s not 1982 anymore. Nobody wants a champion for four years. And we’ve already gotten it. There’s nothing further Roman Reigns can do, except for artificially bump himself up on a Wikipedia record page.

And even then he’s already the longest reigning Universal Champion. He’s had that record for a year. His WWE Championship that people keep acting like he’s about to pass Hulk Hogan is about 900 days away. We ain’t keeping the belt on him until 2028.

Also, lol at it only a month. Cody Rhodes is currently the biggest most over superstar organically the WWE has seen in years. So organic then when fans thought that the rock was gonna take his place, they demanded that Cody be put back in. Wrestling promotions dream of an act being that over and putting him over would mean 1000 times more than just having a slightly longer stupid reign that’s already been too long. We’ve already seen it for four years.

Who cares? It'd still be a massive moment for Cody Rhodes' career and if it's something all the fans want, why not give them what they want? Who cares if it's obvious?
