Yeah, his trial in May 3. He might get convicted and put in jail before this show takes place.

So really the only way Andrade actually wrestles Alberto is if he beats the charges and is acquitted.

IDK how long rape/kidnapping trials are, but can't be more than 2 months, yeah?

I'm more upset that Alberto might get booked after being indicted and charged with a crime while Marty who has openly admitted to his situation and hasn't be charged by UK officials for criminal activity can't get booked. Which to me shows he didn't do anything criminal. Let the man work already.

This looks like a big show tbf just from this part

I can see NLL trying to position itself as a big Texican indie promotion for sure, but the stench of Alberto owning and being the figurehead sure seems hard to shake off :lol and I mean especially if he goes to jail before this match even happens lmaooooo

good talent booked for sure but I 100% agree with your assessment here. Also a case of the bigger they get, the more albertos stink will rise.

On one end im happy to see those other guys booked, however.

Nah Marty knows he fucked up and did wrong, criminal act or not. And the UK got his HARD by the shit, so he's ''unfortunate'' persona non gratta atm.

That being said, he'll be back at some point. But right now nor major will touch him, and rightfully so. He's not worth the backlash for what he brings, because lets be honest, he's not exactly a big draw.

edit: just a quick edit, not being charged also doesn't mean he did nothing wrong.

He was a big enough draw that ROH gave him the book to stay and NWA was building a whole PPV around him taking the belt from Aldis.

As for fucked up, sure. But he's been gone nearly a year already. He didn't fucked up enough to be blackballed forever.

And no one says he should be blackballed forever. (ok, some people probably are, but I am not, I believe ppl can change)

Regarding being a draw in ROH, I"ll say this in the most respectful way possible. It's fucking ROH and he mostly got over being part of the Elite in Japan/RoH. I'm not exactly sure that's nearly enough dollars coming in for ppl like AEW/WWE who's public image is extremely important to them (in different ways ofc).

So my point stands, for major promotions, he's not worth the backlash. For smaller promotions, he's likely too expensive during pandemic era with no touring. A year is fuckall right now with no live shows, I'm confident if he pays his dues/takes the right steps, he will be back in wrestling sooner than later. From what I can tell he's been fairly apologetic and owns it right? That's a good sign if so, and he for sure will be back somewhere, probably by the end of 2021 if I was a betting man.

TL/DR , just wait for the next big fuckup from a wrestler and they get blackballed and he will be back. Hell Osprey is world heavyweight champ and his image was fucking battered for a while (albeit what he was accused of was much lower in the totem poll of shittery)

So getting a bj in a bar is bad......no heat for the bar for allowing an underage girl being there in the first place?

Sounds legit......all Marty Schurll's fault.

I think you're overestimating how much WWE cares about backlash. There's a reason Deezy said don't let Sky in this thread because WWE still has several speaking out people on their roster. Mostly NXT which is where Marty would probably go. Maybe even NXT UK.

There was also a time when Impact gave zero shit about allegations. I used to love that about them.

ROH is dying a slow death, but my point was Marty had offers from most of the other promotions at the time and they had to offer the book to stay.

If he's back by the end of the year, good. That was my point all along. I just don't think it should be any long than that and yes, he has been.

He knew her and knew she was underage. Imagine shooting someone in a bar and being like 'how come a gun was allowed in here, totally not my fault''. the fuck is wrong with u lol

She wasn't, though, you're using your country's laws. 16 is of age in the UK. That's why he's not been charged.

The more questionable part of this is the alcohol component, but that's why the bar shouldn't have been serving her.

WWE still employ the Velveteen Dream....they give no fucks about online accusations, only court shit.

Marty Schurll can go there and only the sanctimonious people who act like they're perfect will criticise it, while everyone else will give no fucks.

but those ppl were already hired. BIG difference in cutting someone over allegations, and hiring someone who was fired for allegations (and admitted to it, so they no longer are allegations).

You can protect certain people when the allegations are just that and no charges have been filed etc. Its a much different optics game to go " out of your way"' to hire someone with those allegations. Hopefully that makes sense :)
